I can’t believe how fast this first year with Kins is flying by. It makes me a little sad how fast it’s going because I love this age so much. She continues to be a very happy and easy going baby and I really feel beyond lucky.
I traveled with her solo last weekend to CA and she did so well on both flights. She slept on me for about half of each flight and just hung out and stole the hearts of everyone sitting next to us.
Here is a little update of how things are going and products we are loving right now.
Schedule:
6:30-7:00am: wake + 8 oz bottle (I usually don’t get her out of her crib till 7. She doesn’t typically cry when she wakes so I just let her play with I make coffee, get her bottle ready, etc.)
7:30-8:30am: play while we get Quinn ready for school then walk her to the bus stop
8:45am: solids #1
9:30-11:00am: nap #1
11:00am: play, walk, errands, etc. + 6-8 oz bottle
2:00-3:30pm: nap #2
3:30-5:00pm: play, pick Quinn up from school, etc. + 6-8 oz bottle
5:00pm: solids #2
5:30pm: bath, PJs, book
6:30: 6 oz bottle + bed
Sleep:
Kinsley typically sleeps from 6:30pm-6:30/7:00am and I’m SO thankful for what a great sleeper she is! She also slept great while traveling last week as well..thank god! I’m very consistent and diligent with her schedule, making sure she isn’t getting too much or too little day time sleep and getting enough ounces of milk, so that she is set up for success at night. She has basically dropped her cat nap in the late afternoon, so she is VERY ready for bed at 6:30pm. I limit her day time sleep now to about 3 hours.
We are still using this sleep sack but she has just about outgrown it and I plan yo transition her to this sleep sack.
Eating:
Right now she takes about 25-28 oz of milk a day. We are still using Bobbi formula and she is tolerating it well. I’m officially out of frozen breast milk.
As for solids, I’m getting a lot less anxious giving her real food. We still get Little Spoon deliveries and I do a combination of purees and BLW depending on what I have ready for her. I’ve found Solid Starts on IG really helpful and I have their app so I know how to appropriately serve Kins solids based on her age. They also have videos of other babies various ages eating each food in their data base which helps ease my anxiety a lot.
I’m offering Kins solids 2 x day (morning and evening). Breakfast I usually give her yogurt or baby oatmeal with mashed up fruit (banana, raspberries, strawberries) or eggs. In the evening I will roast or steam her a vegetable, avocado, or a puree. In about a month I will transition to more finger foods and give her more options and her pincer grasp improves.
