I love going for an early morning walk to get moving before anyone else is up! I’ve always loved walking for exercise (wrote a post about it here) and I started doing these early walks in the summer when it was light out at 5:30am, but now it’s pitch black and starting to get really cold on my morning walks. I meet a friend and we walk about 5 miles 2 mornings a week, so I have a safety buddy! I’m starting to need more layers and accessories on my walks and since some of you have showed interested i thought I would share what I wear on my cold morning walks!
Patagonia Vest I love this vest! It’s the perfect layer for the weather right now and keeps my core warm, but I don’t overheat. I have this vest in grey and wear it all the time for walks and used to wear it when I ran.
Sherpa Ear-wamer if you get too hot with a beanie on, then an ear-warmer headband is the perfect accessory for you. I love these and wear all winter long. I also like this style ear-warmer too.
Gloves I like these gloves because they have a tight fit and you can also still use your phone without having to take off the gloves. I’ve learned to stay warm you have to keep extremities warm and warm hands are key!
Puffer Vest If you know me IRL you know I’ve been wearing this puffer vest non stop! I’m getting so many compliments on it and I think 3 of my friends have already purchased it as well. This is a warm layer for those December-February months. Fits perfect over a long sleeve shirt or sweatshirt. I love the hood, lots of pockets to hold your things, and it’s waterproof because lord knows I need that in Seattle.
Light Belt It’s been soooo dark in the morning…I usually walk from 5:45-7:15am and the sun is just rising by the time I get home. I have not been smart about wearing some sort of light so cars or murders can see me. I just ordered this belt to wear so I don’t get hit by a car lol!
Beanie The warmest head option and this beanie is so cute! I have it in white and wear it all winter long. If you get too hot, you can just put it in the pocket of your puffer vest 😉
Leg Warmers I don’t know about you, but my leggings do not keep my legs warm enough in the winter. I have a pair of fleece lined leggings that I could wear, but sometimes that’s too hot. Leg wamers are the perfect layer and also wear these around the house and used to wear them to barre.
Belt Bag I wear this for all walks (not just cold walks lol), but I thought I would include it here because it’s key. I keep my phone, mask, card holder, and house key in here while I walk. I can also shove my gloves or ear- warmers in here too if I get too hot.
Stay warm and get those steps in 😉
xx, A

Love all of these things! A good morning walk is the best, now you just need a dog to join 😉

This is a great post! I bought both of the vests, gloves, belt bag, and sherpa ear warmer you suggested in the post & am enjoying being out in the cold fall weather for the first time. I’m also a former OC/San Diego gal living in Seattle and it’s hard adjusting to the cold weather. Thanks for the great suggestions!
