2024 is the year of hair health for me and my TikTok is full of influencers touting their healthy hair finds and apparently, the Mason Pearson brush is elite in the comunity touting boar and nylon bristles. Now, I don’t plan to spend $175 on a HAIR BRUSH and luckily a lot of these Tokers aren’t either. There are a few dupes on the market but the Oribe one is allegedly the best actual replica. And while it still has a heftier price tag it’s much better than it’s $175 counterpart. I haven’t taken the plunge on this find yet and use a wet brush at $15 but I still thought this was a worthy find to share with you.
Ole Henriksen Banana Bright Vitamin C Eye Cream
I typically use all medical grade skincare, and that includes products for my under eyes, but I came across this vitamin c eye cream when I saw someone applying their makeup and I decided to give it a try as my under eye primer. Well I love it specifically for that. I use it after I prime my face and then prime my under eyes for concealer. It helps my concealer go on without creasing, a problem I’ve had for many years. And the vitamin c in it is a bonus!
Cetaphil Deep Hydration Moisturizer
We love a drug store find. Cetaphil is honestly a reputable brand amongst dermatologists for a number of reasons. It is so gentle on the skin so anyone with any sort of inflammation, irritation or redness Cetaphil is your girl. I have been battling some perioral dermatitis, dry skin and redness for a couple of weeks and this deep hydrating moisturizer has been in heavy rotation. I didn’t want to touch any sort of retinols and vitamin c’s.. just a gentle cleanser and gentle, hydrating moisturizer. It has worked wonders. In addition, it FEELS expensive. It’s thick like La Mer but doesn’t leave any residue on the surface of the skin. For $20, throw it in the cart.
Because I have searched perioral dermatitis on my phone, my TikTok was listening like a creep and thus showed me a ton of videos of people suffering from the same thing. But because of this, I was introduced to Azelaic acid, something I’ve never heard of in my life. But it has been the single product that erased the redness and itchy irritation around my nose. So while this is a pretty niche product, if you suffer from any irritation I would suggest this product in a heartbeat.
California Naturals Hair Masque
More #hairtok! I discovered this mask by a gal who was comparing it to it’s more expensive counterparts and when I can throw a product in my Amazon cart as easy as 1, 2, 3 I’m pretty sold. I use it about once a week in the shower after I shampoo to leave my hair feeling extra silky and smooth. I also sometimes use it as a deep conditioner before I get in the shower.. you really can’t use it wrong. I’ll put it on dry hair, throw it in a loose bun, work out then shower it out. Sometimes I just need/want my hair feeling extra silky soft and this does the trick. If it’s actually repairing any damage? Who knows but at that price I don’t actually care.
Korean beauty products are hitting us smack in the face, literally. And for a solid reason. First of all, you have any Korean friends you know that their skin is flawless. Their beauty products reign supreme and their price tag is unbeatable. I discovered this SPF through my esthetician so you know it’s proven. I absolutely love the application of this SPF.. soooo light, leaves NOTHING on the skin. Just easy absorption and can be worn by itself or apply makeup right on top. It’s a bottle of SPF I will repurchase over and over again.
Charlotte Tilbury Setting Spray
Little magic bottle of spray! I got the smallest size to test it out since it is on the pricier side and damnit, I like it. I like it so much I’ll be splurging on the more expensive size. I apply it twice during a full makeup application. Once over my “wet” products (foundation, liquid bronzer, liquid blush, concealer) and then once at the end to seal in all of my products. It leaves a light glow and makes your makeup last all day/night. Charlotte can do no wrong in my opinion and I stand by that.
Not all bronzers are created equal and this one is my go to. It’s such a random brand to me as I would typically gear toward Nars, Charlotte, or Hourglass but for some reason this one just works 10 times out of 10. I also use it as my eyeshadow most days. It’s the perfect toasty bronze and gives that sunkissed glow I love more than anything.
We spend so much time worrying about the skin on our face that we neglect the skin on our neck, arms, and legs but those are important too. That skin loses elasticity and collagen just as our face does so let’s make sure to keep it in tip top shape. This lotion is loaded with the goods to battle dry, droopy skin. I also like using this lotion after I’d had a laser treatment like IPL or Coolpeel that leaves my skin feeling like snakeskin. The AHA in it is a bit tingly upon application but that’s how you know it’s working.
Ole Henriksen Peptide Lip Gloss
Lip filler in a bottle 😉 jk. But I am never one to give up trying a new lippy! I have probably 15 in my purse as we speak. I love Summer Fridays lip balm but lately, I’ve been reaching for Ole. Not too thick and so moisturizing and I find it stays on longer than some lip balms.. you know the ones that legit come off in seconds. This one doesn’t seem to do that. I like the original flavor and find myself leaving it in the car for reapplication throughout the day.
