Quinn will be almost 5 years old when baby girl #2 arrives and let’s just say a lot has changed in the past 5 years when it comes to baby products! While, I’m really not trying to get a lot of extra stuff with this baby because I now know how little a newborn really needs, there are a few key products I have been eyeing that I am excited to try this time around. Here is a round-up of 10 “newer” (to me at least!) baby items I plan to use with baby girl in the spring.
Portable White Noise Machine I’ve heard people swearing by this portable sound machine recently. I had one for Quinn that I would keep in her car seat when we were out and about, but I’m pretty sure I no longer have it. I’ve seen people bringing this to the hospital with them and it’s been a life saver those first few nights, which I didn’t do with Quinn and plan to this time around!
Baby Seat The only baby seat option I really had with Quinn was this bouncer (which I still have and can say it’s worth every penny) but I want to have another option this time around. My girlfriend swears by this Nuna baby seat (I’m so lucky she gave it to me as a hand me down) and I’m so excited to try it!
Haakaa Breast Pump This can function as a portable compact pump and to catch extra milk from the other boob while your baby is nursing. I hate to think how much breastmilk I lost while nursing Quinn and have heard amazing things about this product. It’s also very affordable!
Magnetic Onsie Have you ever tried to snap a onsie back up after a 1 am diaper change? No thanks! These magnetic onsies are a life saver for easier changes. I will also be stocking up on zipper onsies as well. NO MORE SNAPS!
Comotomo Bottles These bottles are silicone nipple that are suppose to make the transition from breastfeeding to bottle feeding easier. You never know what a baby will like so I plan to have a few different bottles to see what she likes best.
Love to Dream Swaddle Heather swears by these swaddles. I never had one with Quinn, but plan to use it with baby girl and hope she loves it as much as Heather’s boys did. Fingers crossed!
Bassinet This seems to be the hot new bassinet with great reviews. The reviews are SO mixed with the SNOO (which you can now rent which is a great option) so I’m just going to keep it simple with the Halo bassinet and Doc A Tot and hope that works for the first few months.
Keekaroo Peanut Changer One thing I wasn’t expecting with Quinn was her having accidents while changing her and having to constantly be changing and washing her changing pad sheets. We eventually discovered these changing pad liners which were so helpful, but I’m going to try the Keekaroo changer this time because it’s easy to just wipe down- no laundry!
Wearable Breast Pump OMG how far breast pumps have some the last 5 years! For months with Quinn I had to hold the pump to my breast and just sit there for 15-30 minutes and listen to the most annoying pumping sound- it still haunts me. I eventually discovered a pumping bra that would hold it in place so I was hands free, but it was still a pain in the butt. The new wearable pumps are $$$ for sure, but I think it’s worth the investment so be handsfree especially because I will still need to be running after Quinn and Daisy!
Doc A Tot I first discovered the Doc A Tot when Quinn was already 3-4 months old, so it was too late to get it for her. I plan to use the Doc A Tot inside the Halo Bassinet next to my bed for the first few months.
If you have any baby products that you absoultely could not have survived without please drop your recommendations in the comments section!
