- I was born in Newport Beach, CA and raised in Irvine my whole life. I never moved anywhere until Seattle when I got engaged at the age of 25. I loved growing up in SoCal and I took it for granted how special it was. I went to the beach (41st in Newport IYKYK) on weekends with my girlfriends and baked in the sun all summer long. We spent Spring Break in Palm Springs and drove to Vegas OFTEN, which is why I hate it now lol. I grew up with a pool in my backyard and I still love going home with my boys who now enjoy my parent’s pool and jacuzzi. I try and make it back to OC at least 2-3 times a year.
- I have two brothers and I am the #middlechild. But not your typical middle child because I was the only girl, which made me special 😉 Both of my brothers still live in Southern California not too far from my childhood home. We fought constantly as kids but now I think they’re both pretty cool and we enjoy our time when we get to hang.
- I worked in Corporate Insurance for 7 years and it’s how I met my husband. I got a job with Aetna straight out of college and worked my way up over the years. My husband and I both worked for the same company when we met (in Newport Beach) and we dated long distance for a year before he proposed in Napa on March 11, 2011. After he proposed, I moved to Seattle and worked in the industry until I had my second son, Cameron. That’s when I decided to stay home and raise the little dudes. I miss the paycheck and some of my old coworkers but we still keep up with each other. And never say never if I return back to work one day but for now, I feel fortunate to stay home with the boys and volunteering in their classrooms. And of course, working on the blog and building a community here.
- I went to college at Loyola Marymount University and was a Delta Gamma. Best. Four. Years. Of. My. Life. One regret.. not studying abroad. But I was in one of those toxic, manipulative high school relationships that held me back. Listen to your gut ladies and drop the loser bf 😉
- I started dancing at the age of 3.5 and danced competitively up until high school when I joined the dance and cheer squad. Dancing was my passion for my entire childhood all the way through college and I miss those competition days. I danced in the Joffrey Ballet Nutcracker, at Disneyland and county fairs, and had a pointe solo with the most gorgeous baby blue tutu. I dreamed of hanging that tutu in my future daughters bedroom one day and now here we are with three boys lol.
- I have been getting Botox since I was 24 and I don’t regret it for a second. I don’t know where my love for aesthetics came from and I have no idea what prompted me to get Botox at that age but I love it and will continue to do it until I just go for the face lift lol kidding kinda. I see Pinky at Skin Spirit and have been a client of hers since 2012. If you can’t get into her, go to her colleague, Sabrina (The Nurse of Beauty on Instagram).
- I was scared to be a #boymom and was disappointed when my third son’s gender reveal balloon popped blue. Alix was the first one to know he was a boy and just knew my heart was gonna sink. I was so sure he was a girl. Of course now, I wouldn’t trade it for anything. I grew up with brothers and all of their friends and so having boys comes naturally. I actually don’t think I’d be a very good girl mom and love nothing more than being at my boys’ sporting events and throwing balls around in the backyard. I grew up at soccer and baseball fields in between dance competitions so it’s everything I’ve always known. God gives you what you need <3
- My husband and I own about 10 rental properties together in Wisconsin. My husband is from Wisconsin and has owned property with his brother and dad since he was young. When we got married, we took over most of the properties and have since purchased more. We hope to purchase our own lake home in Wisconsin in the coming years that we bring the boys back to multiple times a year for hunting, fishing, and being close to family. Our retirement plan is to split our time between the lake home in Wisconsin and a home in Southern California. Hopefully we can make that dream a reality one day.
- I recently started collecting antique ink wells and love antiquing in general. My mom and aunt have always been huge on antique shopping and I used to think it was so BORING but now I love it myself.. and even two of my neighbors have gotten really into it and we have gone out treasure hunting together. One of a kind pieces with a story. I place the crystal ink wells throughout my home.. on top of books and shelves and think it’s so much better than some random piece of decorative junk from Target. I love giving a home personality.
- If I wasn’t a stay at home mom, I’d get into interior design or organizing other people’s homes. I am type A, OCD to a fault but it does come in handy at times. I am a minimalist and am not attached to ANYTHING. I am Goodwill happy. But the closets, cupboards, drawers, and cabinets are ORGANIZED. When I’m not purging, you can find me antiquing or on Pinterest looking at interior design. My husband makes fun of me for how many rugs and lamps I change in a year. When new lamps show up on his bed side table, he has learned to just roll his eyes and walk away. There is nothing I love more than beautifying a space and love helping my friends with interior design decisions, too.
