How Far Along: 16 weeks today and officially in my second trimester.. and feeling somewhat normal again. You know it’s your third kid when you actually aren’t quite sure how many weeks pregnant you are and your friend (who is due on the same day) has to remind you #fail. With Jackson and Cam, I checked my Babycenter app every day to see what size fruit they were lol.. so for today’s post I decided to do the same. Apparently, big 3 is the size of an avocado.. so why does it look like I ate a watermelon?
Gender: BOY!
Name: Parker James 🙂 Coming up with a third boy name proved to be difficult. Both Jackson and Cam’s names came to us pretty easily. Jackson is named after Britt’s uncle, his godfather, who tragically passed away in a plane accident when Britt was a young boy. Cameron is Britt’s hometown and was gender neutral for either a boy or girl. So when we found out big 3 was another boy, Britt said I could name him whatever I wanted. I sat around my kitchen with my girlfriends and we threw a ton of names out there and for some reason, Parker just stayed with me. It felt right. And James is a family name from my dad’s side. So there you have it.
Feeling: So much better. Not nauseous anymore, appetite in full force (this is usually when I gain the most weight.. ugh). But exhausted… so so so tired all the time. Motivation level = 0.
Maternity Clothes: Dressing a 16 week old bump is SO HARDDDDDD. Jeans, shorts, basically everything is TIGHT. All I want to wear are dresses but chasing after two boys in a dress is not cute. Can’t bend over. Ready for this belly to pop and dress in maxi dresses like this and this.
Sleep: Going great… relishing in this fact since I think at about 20 weeks it’ll change drastically.
Body Changes: I’ve definitely noticed a difference over the past few weeks.. and probably because I’ve been slacking a little in the exercise department and my appetite is level 9. Belly is definitely growing, which is a good thing. But so is my back side and thighs.. SAD FACE. Still using a ton of oil every night.. and I put it eeeeveryyyywhere.
Exercise: Dragging my ass to the gym has been a little difficult so I’m trying to get at least 10,000 steps a day even if I don’t get a workout in. When I do workout, it’s walking on an incline, elliptical and some weights. Trying to keep my lower and upper body strong while my middle grows. I feel best when I make it to a yoga class and am able to stretch. Going to make that a priority over the next few weeks because it puts me in a much better mood.
Cravings: food. just. food. Cereal and tuna fish sandwiches particularly. Still the weirdest.
Mood: I mean… I’m moody. I’ve never been one to have much patience and have had to consciously work on that since having kids but pregnancy really adds a layer of difficulty to this. I honestly think pregnancy rage is a thing. I was speaking with another mom the other day and she said when she was pregnant with her third she just yelled all. the. time. She couldn’t control it. I’m not necessarily doing that lol but I definitely snap quicker than usual. This is why I need to get my butt to yoga. Namaste.
Looking forward to: Gaining more energy.. I really hope it happens soon. By 10 am, I am ready for a nap. Pretty sure any mom, pregnant or not, would say the same thing.
I hope you enjoy these little life updates and if so, I’ll probably do them about every 4 weeks. Thanks for stopping by. xx
