I truly love testing out new products when I see them on my social feeds or when I hear something getting a lot of praise. I like it even more when it’s budget friendly. There are such high quality products on the market that you can get at your local drug store and while I do believe that medical grade skincare is effective and worth the investment, I think adding in drug store products is sometimes the cherry on top to a skincare routine. Here are 5 products I’ve recently added in to my rotation and why I’m loving them:

I received these as a gift with purchase and was reminded why I loved these years ago. I think I used these over 5 years ago daily and then ran out and forgot to repurchase. I am not the best about remembering to exfoliate my skin each week and should really be doing it at least 3x/week. These peel pads can be used daily or as often as your skin allows. I notice my other products and makeup go on so much smoother after I exfoliate. I do this at night after cleansing and is the first step in my routine about 3x a week right now. I would like to work up to daily but for now I notice my sensitive skin really likes a day off in between.

Peptides is a serious buzz word in the skincare world right now. It’s an advanced age-supporting serum with antioxidant support so this should be applied after cleansing and in conjunction with your vitamin C routine. I apply it morning and night after exfoliating.

Enter Prequel’s latest drop! A hydration mist for on the go. I spray this stuff constantly right now. I use the hypochlorous acid spray every morning or after a workout and then this on top of it throughout the day to keep my skin hydrated and glowy. Use it morning, noon and night.

I was dealing with some redness and dermatitis recently and got on a zoom call with my dermatologist and before prescribing anything serious, she said to try Avene Cicalfate. Voila, this stuff is pure magic. It’s gentle and hydrating (it’s a super thick moisturizer) and cured all of my redness and irritation. Even though my dermatitis is gone, I still use this in the evening and put a pretty thick layer on that absorbs all night long. Gentle, effective and $25.. my kind of product.

At $10 a bottle, I had no problem adding this to my routine to see if it would be beneficial. I apply this at the very end of my nighttime routine to lock in all the moisture. I was weary at first because I do have sensitive and, at times, acne prone skin so I thought an oil might be risky. However, during these winter months my skin is extremely dry and my skin craves as much hydration as it can get. After I apply all of my serums, lotions and potions, I lock it all in with squalane oil and go to bed a glazed donut.
