Switching things up again this week giving you guys a little recap of some things I’m really loving right now. It’s a a random mix of nutrition, clothes, and fitness…my fave topics.
Hot Yoga I really haven’t been running that much since finishing my half marathon in June. I was super pumped when I finished it and had a blast, but my body just hasn’t been feeling it. Since the temps are cooling off I’ve really been craving hot yoga. Not Bikram yoga (I went through that phase and I’ve checked that box) just heated like anywhere between 80-100 degrees. I’ve been practicing 1-2 x week and love how it forces me to sloooooow down, listen to my body, and stretch!
Cozy Sweaters because it’s fall duh! I’ve been on a sweater shopping spree lately and just can’t get enough. I got a new pair of these perfect black leggings and I’m loving the simplicity of throwing on a cozy oversized sweater with leggings. I got this sweater from American Eagle in the green and grey and love it! H&M sweater game is also strong right now! I got this and this sweater from H&M, but also like this v neck and this off the shoulder one too! This Madewell wrap-front pullover sweater is the perfect fall color. This dreamy Free People turtleneck sweater is on my wish list! Lastly, VICI has a great sweater collection right now…I’m going to preorder this one!
The Gut-Brain Connection I was needing some extra continuing education units to keep up with my RD license, so I decided to listened to this book on tape while commuting. You guys know I’m obsessed with gut health and find the gut-brain connection fascinating. The book is honestly super nerdy, so if you’re not into all the scientific details this article does a great job summing up the key take aways from the book.
Matcha Tea Lattes I’m still drinking my coffee don’t get me wrong, but I’m experimenting with matcha more and loving it for an afternoon pick me up. I love Pressed Juicery’s matcha latte, but can’t get there on the reg, so made up this nutrients dense recipe that is so good.
Heat about 12 oz almond milk stove top (you can use any type of milk or even hot water if you prefer). Then add heated milk to Vitamix with the following ingredients: 1 scoop Vital Proteins, 1 tbsp Green Dream, 1 tbsp coconut butter, 1 tsp ashwagandha, 1 tsp matcha, 1 tsp pure maple syrup then blend for about 1 minute. Sprinkle with cinnamon and enjoy.
Magnesium ….Yep. You read that correctly. I’ve answered questions about magnesium here and here in past happy hour posts and it’s such an underrated nutrient that deserves more attention. I do my best to get in magnesium rich foods (nuts, seeds, banana, leafy greens, avocado, whole grains, and fatty fish) via my diet, but also loving the CALM supplement at night to help with sleep. I love this article that does a great job explaining why magnesium should be your new BFF 😉
What are you loving right now??
