- This article on plant-based eating is well written and helps clear up some of the confusion about what term “plant based” eating really means. Plant based diets have recently gained a lot of popularity and traction with documentaries like The Game Changers (I wrote a review on the documentary here) but I think there is a lack of understanding about how to following to a plant-based diet. If you do cut out meat…please do your research first beyond just watching Netflix documentaries 😉
- FoodTrainers Podcast I enjoy listening to all of their podcast, but was excited to hear their thoughts on The Game Changers documentary as well as the plant-based eating trend. Most of their thoughts aligned with mine and I really like the way they explained plant-based and vegan eating as well.
- Body Love Every Day I recently bought this book because I love Kelly’s smoothie and dinner recipes. I’m love getting new ideas for smoothie combos and also was needing new quick, easy, and healthy dinner ideas. Her books drop a ton of knowledge about the science behind her dietary recommendations. If you’re looking to nerd out and get some good recipes I recommend picking up this book or her first book Body Love.
- Mind Pump podcast Ok I feel kind of like a “bro” listening to this podcast, but I love it. These guys are so knowledgable about fitness, supplements, and even their nutrition info I agreed with. I recently listened to episode 1235 and 1227 about the most over and underrated supplements. These guys do not push supplements at all and give really solid advice on how to assess what you might need to add to your routine. I most recently listened to episode 1230 with Max Lugavere who I like to follow. Good tips 😉
- SWEAT app. Heather and I did BBG workouts for a while last spring-summer and felt like we were in great shape. Recently I’m finding getting to a workout class is challenging and time consuming and I’m looking for ways to get in quick at home workouts a few days a week. I signed back up for SWEAT and now they have a ton of program options. I’m starting back with BBG 1.0 week 1 and going to do the 6 week challenge. Anyone want to join??
- These leggings + shoe combo for walking. Last week I discussed my newfound love for walking for exercise. I recently purchased these new black leggings and I’m obsessed. They feel like butter on, high waisted, good price point, and hit my ankle at the perfect spot (I got the ankle length + I’m 5’4″). I’ve been wearing my new Nike’s for a few weeks now and as I’m breaking them in I’m finding them very comfortable for walking. I feel like they are giving my knee really good support on longer walks and give me a little height as well 😉
- Megaformer Pilates I purchased a one month unlimited package at Studio 45 in Seattle and went 3-4 x week for a total of 15 classes in one month. I LOVED it!! I really think the low impact combination of this style of pilates + walking/spin was such an awesome workout combination. My body felt SO good, strong, and lean. The best part is these classes are usually 45 minutes. If you’re looking to switch up your workout routine I recommend trying out a lagree pilates class.
