Book: The Things We Cannot Say and Small Great Things were probably my favorite. I realize I read a lot of light and easy books last year (which we all need sometimes), so hoping to get a few more quality books read next year. I want to set a goal to read/listen to 35 books in 2023!
TV show: I honestly don’t watch that much TV because I’m so tired at night I just want to read a little and pass out. On the weekends my husband and I will watch a show and we are excited to start The White Lotus ASAP. This year I really enjoyed Love Island UK, Anatomy of a Scandal, and Ted Lasso (we just watched this year). I’ve been disappointed and bored with Yellowstone this season and also didn’t think the last season of Succession was as good.
Movie: TBH I barely watch movies anymore, but we went to see Top Gun 2 in the theater and I loved it!
Podcast: The Huberman Lab podcast if a favorite. The episodes are long, but very educational and all science backed.
Blogger: I love to follow Shannon from Itsy Bitsy Indulgences . She lives in Orange County and has two young girls. Her style is simple and classic and I appreciate she rarely jumps on trends and she sticks to her signature style. She doesn’t shove products down your throat. I think we’d be besties if I lived in the OC 😉
Health Product: Athletics Greens and Nutrafol are two products I’ve taken for almost a year now. Both are a little $$, but I feel like they have positively impacted my health this year.
Beauty Product: This is more up Heather’s alley, but I’ve been loving my LED face mask. I try to wear it 3 times a week for 10 minutes. I multi-task and wear it while I listen to a 10 minute Peloton meditation before bed with my legs up the wall.
Workout: It’s no secret I love the Peloton app. I use it almost every day for strength training, running, hikes, cycling, stretching, yoga, etc. I am really loving meeting Heather on the tread for Thunder 45 classes once a week. I’ve quit all my other memberships, so my husband is happy about that lol.
I will do drop in classes at hot yoga when I can on the weekends. That will always be one of my favorite workouts.
I got really into pickleball this year! Heather threw a super fun end of summer pickleball tournament and my husband and I entered (and won!) a tournament at our club. I try to play 1-2 x week and think it’s just so much fun and I’m enjoying learning something new and being social.
Purchase: Peloton Tread. When we looked at our now house and saw how big the garage was, I got so excited. The first thing I thought was that we had room for a tread (our Seattle garage was TINY) and my husband was thrilled for space for his tools or whatever.
We got the tread delivered last February and I use it more than the bike now. I use it all the time and it’s worth every penny IMO. I love all the tread classes on the Peloton app, or just being able to walk and listen to my book when it’s raining outside.
Trip: We are such home bodies and really don’t travel much (hopefully that will change as the girls get older), but I always love taking the girls to visit my sister’s family in Northern CA over Thanksgiving. Seeing all our kids together is really special and I always get sad we don’t live closer.
Memory: Last January we made the big move to Gig Harbor. It was a difficult decision to leave so many friends and family in Seattle, but looking back I can say it was the best decision for our family. We absolutely love it here, love having more space, love the vibe, and my husband stays very busy with all his projects outside 😉 I love all the memories we are making in this house
What I’m Most Proud of Accomplishing: Kinsley turned 1 in June and I think I’m really proud of myself how I was able to transition to 2 kids much more smoothly than I anticipated. I had amazing friends and family helping me along the way, but I’m proud of myself to overall staying calm and chill with Kinsley as a newborn and being able to really enjoy her first year. I did NOT have that experience with Quinn, so it meant a lot to have it with Kinsley.
What I’m most looking forward to in 2023: I have a few girls trips on the books and we are going to Hawaii in February, so I’m REALLY looking forward to that. I’m not looking forward to the flight with Kinsley though 😉
