Alix’s Spring Break Recap // Disneyland + OC

The girls’ big Christmas gift was a trip to Disneyland over spring break. This was their first time at Disney and they really did not know what exactly to expect, but were excited. I hadn’t been in YEARS and so much has changed, so I was anxious about the logistics and how it would all go. Overall, it was a success. It took us a second to get the hang of the app and lightening pass, but once we did it was super helpful. Hopefully it’s a trip they will always remember (Quinn at least) and core memories were made! Here is a little photo dump of our time at Disney and the extra few days I spent in the OC with the girls.

We stayed at the Hyatt which was perfect for us. We had a kid’s suite which had bunk beds for the girls. The hotel had a decent restaurant, a nice Starbucks (I would mobile order from bed lol) and a shuttle that ran every 30 minutes taking you to and from the park.

We had reservations at the Plaza Inn for a late breakfast. The food was honestly gross, but the kids enjoyed it and the characters come around to your table and interact with the kids and take pictures.

I don’t think she ate more than 2 bites of her food she was too distracted by the characters

I learned how to tell the difference between chip and dale. This was chip 😉

Kinsley was about one inch too short for a lot rides, so we ended up taking turns going on the bigger rides with Quinn.

Day one we went back to the hotel in hopes the girls would nap around 2pm and while they were both exhausted they didn’t fall asleep. We still rallied and hit up CA Adventure in the evening for a few hours.

All the treats, but this was the star for me.

Day two: i made the family stand in line to get the iconic picture.

Quinn was obsessed with the rollercoaster in CA Adventure and went on it 6 times I think and I finally agreed to go on it with her.

It was really special to see Disney through the girls’ eyes. They really loved it and were the perfect ages.

We stayed 3 extra days in Orange County and first stop was CPK lunch obviously

The timing worked out perfect and I was able to meet up with a few college friends and their families in Newport for a pool day.

Back to Washington. The girls were both great travelers and it feels like we’ve finally made it. I don’t have to back a million things to keep them busy on a flight. An ipad, snacks, and some coloring stuff and they are both good to go! I was actually able to read some of my book when my flight anxiety wasn’t peaking 😉

Overall, it was such a special family trip for the 4 of us and I’m really hopeful it’s something they will always remember. The Disney hangover is real and we were all wiped, but it was worth it!
