Alix’s Summer Recap

As summer comes to an end, I like to scroll back through all my pictures and reminisce about all the fun we had over the past few months. BOTH girls start school next week and the weather is defiantly starting to feel more Fall like around here. Quinn will be going into 3rd grade and Kinsley will be starting her first year of preschool! I will be going back to the college campus I work at one day a week as well. We are all very excited.

We do have one final final summer adventure this weekend for Labor Day and then it’s back to routine. I crave a good routine and I’m feeling ready for more structure.

We spent a lot of time at the pool. Both girls LOVE the water and post swim ice cream 😉

Living her best life at the pool this summer

We started off the 4th of July weekend at a friend’s party on Fox Island

Then spent the rest of the weekend on the boat. Quinn’s happy place is being on the water.

Kins still talks about falling in the water off the raft and I’m not sure we can convince her to try it again

Quinn was in a few camps and Kins and I would hit up the beach and look for shells and sand dollars

Quinn tried out for a club team in the spring and made it, so we spent a lot of time on the soccer field. She had 4 tournaments this summer and practice twice a week. I love watching her play and hope she continues to love the sport as much as I did.

I played a lot of pickleball this summer and really improved my game. I played in a 6 week women’s league and played against really good players. It was fun to level up and challenge myself.

We threw Quinn a pool party and sleepover with 3 of her best buds for her 8th birthday. No one slept, but we survived and they had a blast 😉

We will miss the summer farmer’s market.

I think the highlight of the summer for me was watching these two become best friends. Their bond really flourished over the summer. Quinn has matured so much over the summer and has started to really love being a big sister. They play together constantly and their bond is so sweet to watch.

One last hurrah this weekend to officially say goodbye to summer!
