Happy May and Happy Friday! Why so HAPPY? Cuz Spring has sprung in Seattle.. (say that five times fast).. and we are finally seeing the LIGHT!! It has been DIM and GRIM, people! But we are coming out of it and so excited for some sun on our skin. Anywho… it is the first Friday of the month and that means another round of “Favorites” from the last 30 days. Here’s what we were loving in April:
Alix
Eeeek I know what you’re thinking…hard no on the crop top. BUT with high waisted leggings it’s a win IMO. I’ve been wearing them to barre and Orange Theory and love how light and airy they feel while working out. They also have low armholes to show off a cute sports bra. These tops will be a staple when training for our half marathon this spring and summer.
I’m loving the leopard trend and think these shoes add a fun pop to a basic and neutral outfit. They took a few wears to break in, but now super comfortable. I am also obsessed with these, these, and these (a girl can dream) if you’re into the animal prints as well 😉
Naturopathica Vitamin K Eye Serum
My aesthetician (that does my waxing) carries only Naturopathica in her spa and she recently gave me a sample of this eye serum to try because she’s obsessed. Clearly I was just as obsessed because I bought it! I use it in the AM for brightening and continue to use my Skin Ceuticals eye cream in the PM.
Clearly we love our Drunk Elephant (DE) and incorporate their products into our daily skin care routines. DE sent us their 1% retinol to try before it hit the stores and I was so excited I called dibs lol. Previously, I was using 0.5% retinol from SkinCeuticals and just didn’t feel like it was strong enough. I’ve kicked it up a notch and now using DE 1% retinol every other night and TLC on the other nights.
We were crushed when Pressed discontinued coconut water…nothing will ever compare, but this blue lemonade is a new release and I’m loving it. It’s super refreshing, hydrating, and the prettiest blue color! Yes, there is some added sugar from the maple syrup, but also a good dose of vitamin c from the spirulina. This isn’t something I drink daily (or use to replace water) but it’s a nice treat after a spin or hot yoga class.

Amazon High Waisted Bandeau Bikini
This bikini comes in 28 colors and for only $23, it could seriously pass as an L*Space, high end bathing suit. I love the bandeau top (not ideal when chasing kids but still a fan) and the bottoms are cheeky but high-waisted so the perfect balance of sexy + coverage… it’s a struggle to find that these days, amiright? I purchased the black and white leopard (looks more like a polka dot to me) but also love the orange and purple ones! Probably need them. Ok yes, I do. In my cart 😉
Yogalicious High Waist Ultra Soft Leggings
We all know I love a good Amazon find and they are seriously on FIRE right now in the fashion department. The title of these leggings does not lie.. they are super high waisted and ultra soft.. think Lululemon Align’s but less expensive. I am not going to say “cheaper” because the quality of these leggings is on point. I have them in pale blue and light purple. I want them every color though… next up: pale pink.
Drunk Elephant Vitamin C Serum
No, this isn’t new but I have been alternating my vitamin C serums every few months as I receive/purchase new products and I recently came back to Drunk Elephant’s C Firma and I’m not looking back. I’m not sure if you’ve heard but L’Oreal, who owns SkinCeuticals, is actually suing Drunk Elephant for patent infringement on the C Firma Vitamin C serum. No, this isn’t awesome for Drunk Elephant (and they have denied any infringement) BUT this proves that L’Oreal/SkinCeuticals is threatened by the power of DE’s version compared to the $166 SkinCeuticals CE Ferulic Serum that has a serious cult following. Drunk Elephant’s C Firma is JUST as good as the SkinCeuticals version and they know it. So who’s going to pay $166? Not me. Drunk Elephant ALL THE WAY.
Trish McEvoy Beauty Balm and Bronzer Palette
I was only recently introduced to Trish McEvoy products and after getting recommendations from friends and trying her line, I am a firm believer in her stuff. Back in the day, I was a “cake it on” type of girl.. like, MAC was my happy place. Thick foundation, powder on top, dark eyeliner, all the eyeshadow and a lipstick followed by shiny gloss. V chic #not. It’s amazing that in my older age.. at the ripe age of 32, I am more confident in my skin than I was when I was 21. Now, I want a very, very, very light foundation or cc cream followed by a bronzer and mascara and I’m out the door. Less is more and I have found that in Trish’s products. The Beauty Balm can be worn as a primer for foundation OR as your foundation. I wear it as my everyday foundation. I follow it up with her bronzer and I’m done.. and get complimented and asked what I’m wearing ALL the time. Props to my gf, Anne, for introducing me to Trish McEvoy and these two all-star products.
Happy May!!
