Happy Monday! First and foremost, thank you all for your love and support regarding our big 3 news last week.. we are truly so excited! I plan to write about my pregnancy journey but I want to make sure I’m still sticking to content that appeals to a wider audience and ignites my passions. And naturally, these two worlds are going to collide in some aspects.. much like today’s post because a few of my April/May beauty finds are geared toward pregnancy (but anyone can use them!). Below are the products I’ve been loving this month:
Drunk Elephant Babyfacial: Apparently, I’m not supposed to be using this product pregnant (due to the salicylic acid, which when taken in ORAL form has been shown to cause birth defects so doctors recommend avoiding it topically just to be safe) so I have since stopped but before I was pregnant, I used this 1x a week and it leaves my face feeling soft as a baby’s behind.. hence the name babyfacial. Like. Butter. It definitely tingled the first few times but I like a little burn every now and then.. it means it’s working and knocking dead cells off 😉 Leaves my skin feeling brighter and smoother.
NARS Laguna bronzer: This isn’t new for me but wanted to share with all of you. I have countless bronzers.. I get sucked in every time. But recently, I’ve been coming back to NARS Laguna because it’s just pretty.. and perfect for spring/summer. Leaves a little glow/glimmer/shimmer whatever you want to call it and it’s just a good color when you have a slight tan (not that I’m tan AT ALL. Hello, I live in Seattle.. but I’m not as pasty as I was in winter).
Drunk Elephant Umbra Tinte Daily Defense SPF 30: Ok, obsessed doesn’t even begin to describe it. First of all, the formula is CREAMY BUTTERY PERFECTION. And it doesn’t smell like SPF. Secondly, it has a tint to it so when you’re blemish free, feelin yourself, don’t want to wear a lick of makeup, throw this on. You should be wearing SPF daily NO MATTER WHERE YOU LIVE I DON’T CARE IF IT’S CURRENTLY SNOWING OUTSIDE YOUR WINDOW.. SPF is THE MOST IMPORTANT product you should be putting on every day. Ok sorry for shouting but I believe in this wholeheartedly/so passionate about protecting your pretty little face. No one wants wrinkles. Ok back to this product. The tinted version is my favorite because I don’t have to wear any other makeup besides mascara and I’m out the door. Are you sold yet?
Earth Mama Body Oil: For my preggos.. this is what I use along with a number of other things (see below) but some #realtalk. Stretch marks are hereditary.. it doesn’t matter what you rub on your body or how fit and healthy you are during pregnancy. Some women will naturally get stretch marks and others won’t. It’s not fair. It’s genetics. HOWEVER, it doesn’t hurt to try and prevent them.. or at least diminish them while you’re going through it. I think of it this way, if my body is stretching, pulling, growing, oil will help it stretch a bit easier than if there wasn’t oil rubbed on.. probably dumb but that’s how I think of it. So I am lubing up!
R+Co Sail Soft Wave Spray: For my girls who need a little extra oomph/texture/volume after washing.. I spray this in clean, wet hair before blow drying (or air drying). I have thin hair that will lay flat to my head if I don’t put any product in so this stuff gives me that extra volume I need. And it smells divine.
Thayer’s Witch Hazel Toner: This one is a little weird but I’ve never used toner in the past. A trusted esthetician once told me that toners aren’t really necessary if you’re taking care of your skin in other ways (like cleansing, vitamin c, serums, oils, moisturizers, etc- which I do religiously). But I came across this spray version by Thayer’s and I kind of fell in love with the rose petal smell. I carry it with me in my purse and just spray throughout the day when I’m not wearing makeup.. it wakes up my skin and just makes it feel cleaner after running around all day. It’s cheap.. from Target.. why not give it a whirl?!
Clarins Body Oil: I used this with my first pregnancy (the one where I didn’t get stretch marks) and recently purchased it again and plan to use it over the next 7 months. However, this isn’t just for pregnancy..anyone can use it as a body moisturizer to firm and tighten skin elasticity. Don’t we all need that?
Bio Oil: Ok maybe I got a little aggressive with all these body oils but can you tell how paranoid I am about getting more stretch marks with this baby?! It’s inevitable and eventually I’ll come to terms with it BUT in the meantime, I’m going to continue to rub oil all over in hopes it makes me feel better lol. This oil has been used since the beginning of time.. literally I think it’s been around for a million years or something (maybe that’s an exaggeration) so it’s tried and true. Inexpensive.. Target.. there’s no reason not to try it.
IT Cosmetics CC+ Cream: I recently discovered this tinted moisturizer/foundation with SPF (see.. I always have it on some way, somehow!). I have a number of tinted moisturizers but none of them give me a ton of coverage. And this baby is making my skin breakout like never before so I need a bit more coverage right now. Enter, this CC cream. I got it in their medium color.. so it’s a little bit darker than my natural skin tone but with Summer right around the corner, I thought what’s the harm in looking a little tanner than usual right now 😉
Hope you enjoyed this round of beauty finds. Leave your comments below with any products you’re loving lately that you think I should try. xx

whenever someone talks about stretch marks i’m thinking argan oil. It’s great for hair, face and body. You can find it on amazon. Happy pregnancy 🙂
