When Is The Sale?
Cardholders shop 7 days earlier than the general public so you get to shop online and in-store starting July 12-18th.
If you are already a cardholder, be sure to check what “status” you are in your Nordy app because you may have access to in-store and online shopping even earlier than others. Simply go to your Account tab and click on REWARDS. If you are an ICON (the highest level.. aka you’re a BOSS and I’m jealous of you), you get to shop in-store on July 9th. If you are an AMBASSADOR, you get to shop in-store on July 10-11th. And for the very first time, Icons and Ambassadors are going to be given access to the sale online starting July 11th at 12:30 pm EST.
Here’s a breakdown of the most important dates and times:
- Wednesday, July 9, 2019: Icon level Nordy Club members get to pre-shop in-store.
- Thursday, July 10-11, 2019: Icon and Ambassador level Nordy Club members get to pre-shop in-store before Early Access begins.
- Friday, July 12, 2019: Early Access starts! Available to all Nordstrom cardholders. Shopping starts at 12:30 PM ET.
- Friday, July 19, 2019: The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2019 is open to the the general public
- Sunday, August 4, 2019: The last day of the sale! Items return to their normal retail price starting August 5.
Strategy For Shopping the Sale:
What I’ve learned in years past is that things sell quickly because there are so many influencers and bloggers promoting the sale and creating a sense of urgency on the pieces they love. And yes, some hot ticket items go quick but Nordstrom absolutely restocks throughout the 3 weeks even if they say they don’t. Don’t get discouraged if an item you want sells out in your size the first few days. With a restock or people returning items, you have a good chance of getting what you want. The ONLY difference I see this year is that Nordstrom is giving early ONLINE access to Icons and Ambassadors, which they haven’t done before. So I do think we are going to see items sell out faster this year. I’ll try and do a good job of letting you know if pieces sell out and when I see them restocked in additional sizes online.
Pro-Tip: Fighting crowds at the mall can be, well, downright stressful, so here’s the best way to shop: online with in-store pickup. This lets you shop from the comfort of your couch, while still being able to pickup your items on the same day. Products can sell out quickly, but you can sometimes still snag a “sold out online” item just by selecting in-store pickup. (Don’t worry, if you don’t live close to a Nordstrom they offer free shipping!)
Get inspired with a preview of what will be on sale HERE. Nordstrom hasn’t given us much.. details are slim but this is the best sale of the year because we get deep discounts on NEW items for Fall 2019 and not just “clearance items.” So this is unlike any other major retailer and their sales.
