I turn 39 next week and I truly cannot believe this will be my last year in my 30’s. I really don’t feel that old, but here we are. However, I want to close this decade stronger than ever. I want to enter my 40’s feeling my absolute best. I’ve already made significant changes the past few years to make this possible, but I have a few things I want to really focus on this next year.
Be Picky What I Choose to Put My Time and Energy Into
I think this quote perfectly sums up the energy I want to bring into my 40’s.
”The older we get, the more picky we become about the expenditure of our energies. The older we become, the more we ask ourselves “Is this person worth the energy? The time?” And, “Is this situation worth this kind of energy and time?” We become choosy about who and what we spend energy on. We allow ourselves to be freed from the people and the things that simply don’t deserve our life force. The older we get, the more we realise how precious our life force is and how much we ought to guard it, and keep ourselves wrapped inside the kind of energies that serve our purpose.” -JoyBell C
Professional Growth
Kinsley is getting older and I feel like I’m able to put myself back in the professional game a bit more. I want to attend a national nutrition conference this year, explore further training in integrative and functional medicine, and work with clients one on one again.
Continue to Prioritize my Physical and Mental Health
As you get older you realize you’re not invincible anymore. You also realized how important your health and your family’s health is. That’s why I put a lot of time, energy, and money into taking care of myself so I feel my best and I can continue to do the things I enjoy. My health goals have changed over time. For example, what I choose to eat, drink (or not drink), and how I move my body now is because I want be strong and be disease free. My decisions in my 20’s and early 30’s were more for vanity reasons.
I plan to start the celebration this weekend. Heather and I are having a day! On Saturday we are going to a CorePower Sculpt class, cryotherapy, lunch, and a spa treatment. Then my husband is taking me to dinner when I get home. I’m taking my actually birthday off of work (duh) and getting a massage and who knows what after ;). Then I’m meeting one of my best friends for a girls weekend in Scottsdale to get some much needed sun and relaxation in a few weeks.
Lastly, it wouldn’t be a birthday without a wishlist ;). Here are some things this Aries girl has been eyeing.
