What is your favorite foundation or everyday face makeup?
It depends on what I’m going for.. full coverage for an event/date night or my daytime look. For full coverage, I love Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation. For my everyday, I switch between three different CC/BB creams with SPF (depends on the months and if I have a tan or not!). I love Laura Mercier Oil Free Tinted Moisturizer, IT Cosmetics CC, and Juice Beauty CC.
Favorite sunscreen for these dry, winter months?
Pro tip: I always put sunscreen on before my tinted SPF moisturizer.. the tinted moisturizer with SPF isn’t enough. Always start with SPF before anything! We both love Beautycounter Mineral Sunscreen 🙂
I want a new trench coat for the rainy months ahead. Can you link a few budget friendly options?
Can you link all of your favorite Amazon sunglasses in one spot here? Thanks!
How much sugar is in the Wild Friends peanut butter and how can I order it?
You can order it straight from their website and I ordered this holiday pack – so good! Yes, there is some added sugar in these (they have other flavors that don’t). 5 grams of added sugar per serving and IMO #worthit these are delish!
How do you plan to handle Halloween candy with your kids? I never know the right way to approach it.
I know this can be really stressful for some parents to navigate and some have their own anxiety about having all the candy in the house. I wrote a whole post on this topic last year and plan to use the same approach this year. This year will look different because we aren’t doing the traditional trick-or-treating, so I’m guessing there will be less candy, but I plan to let her have fun and enjoy the holiday then let her have a few pieces the day after Halloween until it’s gone and move on!
What are your favorite seasonal candles? Time to get cozy!
Most of the time we will juts go to HomeGoods and stock up on seasonal candles, but sometimes they all smell gross and you have to splurge a bit. Here are some faves:
I am dairy free but have always LOVED yogurt and miss having it as a snack. I have been trying some of the dairy free yogurts with some fresh blueberries or raspberries mixed in. I have tried the SILK brand almond milk plain one but it seems really high in fat and calories. Currently I have the Forager vanilla bean cashew milk yogurt at home and really like it but not sure how healthy that one is compared to others. I’ve seen coconut milk yogurts at the store but haven’t purchased yet. Any suggestions on dairy free yogurt alternatives?
I feel ya the yogurt aisle can be confusing! When it comes to yogurt you mostly want to focus on sugar (esp. added sugar) and protein grams. You want it low in sugar and high in protein in order for it to be a filling snack. I wouldn’t be too worried about fat either…if it’s coming from almonds, cashews, or coconuts depending on what type yogurt you’re having are all healthy sources of fat and will also help keep you full and satisfied.
Most dairy free yogurts are low in protein, so I would recommend adding nuts, seeds, or vital proteins to it in order to up the protein content so you feel full. Coconut yogurts send tend to be much higher in fat and calories and low in protein, so just add some protein for a balanced snack. The Forager yogurt you’re having now is fine, but looks like it’s only 3 grams of protein and 11 grams of added sugar. I like Kite Hill plain unsweetened yogurt or their greek yogurt and I add toppings to spruce it up! Hope that helps!
Thanks for your questions this week. Have a fun and safe halloween!
xx, A+H
