I am putting together a gallery wall in my hallway and need thin black frames similar to the ones Heather has in her playroom. Can you link them?!
Yes, they are the perfect gallery wall frame in my opinion. Linked here!
I’d love to put an olive tree in our house but know they don’t thrive inside so I need some faux options. Can you link some you like?
I (Heather) found mine at the Restoration Outlet, which was a huge score but I also just purchased this one from Pottery Barn for our guest bedroom. It hasn’t arrived yet and I’ve heard the leaves are only green on one side (white on the other) so you have to really play with it to make sure it looks real. I’ve also seen this one and this one online but can’t tell you how “real” they look or not!
What is your favorite self-tanner for your body and your face?
I have tried both Isle and Paradise (dark) and Tan Luxe for my face and would give them an equal rating. They both accomplish the same goal of a tanned face without the gross smells. I just think the branding of Tan Luxe is cuter lol so I like it on my countertop.. it just goes with the aesthetic. Dumb it’s my truth. As far as body, I think St. Tropez is the best and I won’t stray. Don’t forget the applicator mit.. a must.
Heather – I know you went to the dermatologist to discuss acne treatment. What came about and can you share any products your dermatologist recommended?
At the end of the day, my acne is mostly associated to my hormone imbalance (my testosterone tested on the higher end) so I was put on an Rx to help manage that. However, I am continuing to use these following products to manage it: gentle cleansing complex | retinol (start small and work your way up to the 1.0) | Blemish + Age Defense
I’m looking to switch some of my beauty products to cleaner ones and have been looking at Beauty Counter. I know you use some of their stuff…what are you favorite products?
I (Alix) have switched over to a lot of Beauty Counter products over the years and love the body wash, body lotion, shampoo, conditioner, vitamin c serum, charcoal face mask, and this resurfacing peel (used when I wasn’t pregnant). I also love their sunscreen and just tried their new deodorant scent fresh coconut and LOVE!
My 2.5 year old loves to match me…any cute mommy and toddler matching jammies?
This matching leopard lounge set is adorable. This mom and daughter set is also really cute. These matching heart jammies are perfect for Valentine’s Day. These matching LOVE sweatshirts are also adorable.
I’m starting to get burned out on working out from home. I know some studios are reopening, but I’m still nervous. What are your top 5 at home workouts right now…I know you guys like to switch it up a lot and I need some inspo!
Totally hear you! We both love our Peloton and all the classes offered with the app. Even if you don’t own a bike or tread, you can still use the app for all of their strength, cardio, outdoor running/walking, yoga, pilates, and barre classes. They offer A LOT of options, a bunch of different teachers, different classes lengths, etc to meet you where you’re at. It looks like right now you can get two months free too!
If we’re aren’t using the Peloton app we love Barre 3 or Pure Barre at home virtual classes, Melissa Wood Health (unlimited access to classes $10/mo), Rachael Good Eats does a few weekly killer classes on IG live that are free and she saves all of her classes for you to access. In the past we’ve both done BBG workout and those are really fun and easy (not to mention KILLER!) to do at home. If we aren’t feelings any of the above then maybe it’s just a walk and/or stretching day.
We would love to hear what other online/workout from home options you guys are loving…drop in the comments section!
What is the new etiquette for wedding gifts for all the weddings happening? Like should I still get a gift since they are having a small ceremony but a wedding later I would be invited to?
We are no experts, but the weddings we were invited to that got cancelled last year due to COVID we spent a little more money on their gifts since we were not spending money on the travel. I guess I would put yourself in the bride and groom’s shoes and of course you still want to fulfill your registry the same as if you were having a normal wedding. So I would still get them a nice gift if you would have been invited (or were invited) to their wedding/ceremony at the time of their ceremony and not wait for the party they plan to have later.
Alix I’m curious- have you started to get stuff for the baby yet? I’m due close to you and curious what stuff you’re getting for baby this time.
Gosh honestly I’m in puppy mode right now since we get her next weekend! I’m so lucky this time around that I have so many amazing mamas giving me their hand me downs because I got rid of all my big stuff. I’m so exited to try the DocATot with this baby (didn’t have it with Quinn) and I plan to get the Halo Bassinet. I plan to use an UPPAbaby Mesa car seat like we did with Quinn because we loved it. My girlfriend gave me this Nuna baby seat that I’m excited to try and I have and love the babybjorn bouncer as well. I’ll write up more baby posts as I get more things and closer to my due date. If you have any recs I’m all ears!!
I had a question…I’m looking for some walking/trail shoes for the trails here in Sammamish. I have hiking boots but they are so heavy. I’m currently using Brooks but some of the trails are muddy and wet which goes through the shoes. I’m not a runner just a walker on sidewalks and trails. All the running shoes you wear are so cute but I wouldn’t want to ruin them in the mud. Any ideas?
OK warning…these are not cute, but I’ve heard good things about Hoka shoes. These ones get good reviews and are waterproof, but don’t look too heavy. They say for trail running, but walking in them is all the same. Definitely save your cute running shoes for running errands instead 😉
Thanks for your questions this week!
xx,
A+H
