Heather your brows look so good. Can you share more about your microblading experiencing? How did you find someone you trust, did it hurt, how long does it last, etc.?
Thank you! They are still healing and I have a touch up appointment in 7 weeks but overall I am so pleased with them and the experience. I found Whitney aka Browhemian (that’s her Insta handle) through my Skin Spirit esthetician, who I trust with everything on my face. It also helps that her brows are a walking advertisement for Browhemian 🙂 Microblading doesn’t feel good.. it is essentially the same thing as getting a tattoo and on a very sensitive, thin part of your skin. The initial strokes hurt but once the numbing cream seeps in, you barely feel it. It took about an hour and 15 minutes for her to complete my brows and it should last me at least a year and then I can go in for touch ups here and there as needed! Look up Whitney.. she is so gorgeous, smart, and an expert at her craft.
As we approach warmer weather, I am in need of a new pair of jean shorts! Can you link some favorites?
I am attending a small wedding this summer and need a dress.. preferably something floral or colorful!
Here are some inspiration dresses for you:
Heather – can you link your new rugs for the dining and living room you posted about on stories?
Yes! I got both rugs through Ruggable and I am so impressed. Ruggables are meant to be WASHABLE.. talk about a game changer. The company was founded by a woman/mom who knows how important it is to be able to wash rugs in common areas! I got this one, which is a dupe for this Serenda and Lily rug. And this rug in 8×10 for my main living room where the boys spill constantly. I love rugs that are neutral in color but have a design so that if something spills, it isn’t noticeable.
I’m in a breakfast rut. Can you share a few quick and healthy breakfast ideas?
I wrote a post here with 7 breakfast ideas that are both healthy and quick and another post here with some of my favorite breakfast ideas. Personally, I find myself rotating between, oats + nut butter, smoothies, toast + avocado or nut butter, and yogurt with this granola. I want to start making more chia seed pudding to top with granola as well for a quick and fueling breakfast option.
I’m pregnant and just found out I’m slightly anemic. I don’t really want to take an iron supplement and wondering if you have any suggestions to increase iron in my diet?
Sure! In pregnancy you need 27 mg of iron a day. Make sure your prenatal vitamin contains iron and also incorporating iron rich foods into your diet will help! There are two different types of dietary iron sources….heme and non-heme. Heme is the type of iron your body absorbs best and you can get it from beef, chicken, turkey, and pork. Non-heme iron sources include iron-fortified cereals, grains, and oatmeal, dark leafy greens, raisins, lentils, kidney beans, soy beans, peas, and tofu. Another trick is to consume iron rich foods with a Vitamin C source, such as tomatoes and oranges as Vitamin C helps your body absorb non-heme iron better.
