Do you like your Ruggable rugs you purchased? How do they work? They are washable? How?!
Love my Ruggables! I have one in my dining room and living room. They are SO thin and lay on a thick velcro pad.. so that’s how they are washable. This is the one I have in my living room and this one in my informal dining area (which is a Serena and Lily dupe)!
Do you have any new book recommendations?
I loved The Wife Upstairs (quick and easy read), The Last Letter from Your Lover, and I’m currently reading (and enjoying) Girls with Bright Futures and listening to The Perfect Marriage (also good so far). I also wrote a post on my top 5 reads from 2020.
Your manicures always look so nice. Just wondering what type of mani you do (shellac/gel/powder dip or regular nail polish)?
Thank you! It’s really the one thing I can’t go without.. if my nails aren’t painted, I end up picking or biting them and my nail health is just better when they’re painted. I always get shellac. I’ve tried powder dip and while I like that the manicure lasts 3+ weeks, I usually end up picking it off before that so the cost doesn’t make sense. Also, I don’t like that they use their “tools” on your nails when you do the dip.. I feel like they’re shaving off a layer of your nail. No thanks! I always get one of three color combos: nude, bright red, or dark dark red almost black.
With things getting back to somewhat normal, my husband and I are planning some date nights again. I haven’t shopped for much besides loungewear the past year and wondering if you could link some cute date night inspo for the spring and summer?
YAS date nights! So happy things feel more normal and we can go out for dates and get a sitter for the kids. I always wear a nicer pair of jeans (denim, black or white) with a fun, flirty top. Here are some ideas for tops:
With warmer temps I’m craving lighter dinner options. Can you link some spring/summer dinner recipes you like?
Yes same here. I’ve been making a lot more salads lately. This Thai chopped salad was so good (I added soba noodles to make it a little heartier) and this cobb salad was delish. I also love salmon bowls, lettuce wraps, and these turkey meatballs with zoodles are in constant meal plan rotation right right now. I’m also using Kelly LeVeque’s Body Love Everyday cookbook a lot right now as she has many light and easy recipes.
I want a pair of white sneakers for Spring/Summer.. can you link some cute, casual, affordable options?
Yes here are my favorites:
What SPF do you use on yourself during the summer months?
I use Drunk Elephant, Beauty Counter, and Elta MD.. it just depends on which one I grab first but I use them interchangeably and love all of them!
Alix- can you tell us more about your vaccination experience? What did your doctor say about it and did you have any side effects?
My experience with my first shot was good. I had a little bit of a sore arm (no more sore than the flu shot) and felt normal after. I have my second shot Monday and I’m a little worried about not feeling well. I plan to drink a lot of water before and after to be hydrated and help flush it out. I spoke with my doctor prior to getting my first shot and she was supportive of my decision. More and more research is coming out on positive outcomes of pregnant and breastfeeding mothers getting vaccinated, but obviously it’s still early and limited. Here is an article I just read today. She said the thing to worry about most is spiking a fever and for that reason she wouldn’t recommend in the first trimester as a fever is more serious at that point in pregnancy. I felt comfortable being in my 3rd trimester that this was the best decision for me and my family. Ultimately talk it through with your doctor and make a decision that you feel comfortable with.
I’m out and about more with my kids and dog and thinking I need to finally get a fanny pack so I can be hands free. Can you link a few cute ones?
We love our Lululemon fanny packs and here are some other cute options:
