Alix why didn’t you like Branch Basics? I’ve seen so many influencers “obsessed” with it. Do you like Safely so far?
I just didn’t feel like Branch Basics got things clean. The kitchen spray left me wanting to use a Clorox wipe after. The hand wash is actually fine and I added some essential oils to give it a nice smell. I liked that it was foamy. Every product is essentially the same…you just use a different concentration to water ratio. It’s super clean and non toxic which is great, but just wanting to try something else. I got this Safely kit (so I would get free shipping) and so far I like it. The detergent smells so good. It’s not as “clean” of a product as Branch Basics because it has fragrance, but so far I like it and I also like the price point.
Heather- what’s your aperol spritz recipe? Looked SO good!
Oh my gosh I can’t believe I had never had an aperol spritz before lol! It’s so good! It’s just champagne (or Prosecco), aperol which is an orange liquor, and soda water! My girlfriend said that grapefruit instead of orange is also a huge game changer for these! My husband says the aperol and Prosecco should be a 1:1 ratio but I said I wanted it to be most Champagne, soda water and a SPECK (like a freaking SPECK!) of aperol to cut down on sugar 😉 It still made it super orange and cute lol!
What makeup brushes do you use and what cleaner do you use on them/how often?
I have a variety of brushes from Amazon to Target to Sephora! I am not a loyal B when it comes to brushes.. I just pick up ones I like or see when I’m out and about. As for cleaning them, you should do it once a week if you apply makeup every day.. I do it about once a month and should do it more but don’t wear makeup all that often. Get this cleansing pad for the sink.. it’s much easier to really get the grime off than just using a towel.
Can you link the sleep clocks you use on your kids again?
Yes! We both have this one from Amazon and the Hatch. They essentially do the exact same thing but the Hatch just has more bells and whistles and you can control it from your phone. But they work the same!!
I love the Bottega Venata woven sandal but can’t spend that much money on them! Do you have any “looks for less?”
Yes! The popular shoe of the moment 🙂 These are amazing and only $45. I just purchased them in white for summer!
What moisturizer do you use and how do you keep your skin hydrated in summer?
I (Heather) have started to move away from lotions/moisturizers and strictly using serums only. My pores are prone to clogging and the thick lotions aren’t great for my skin. I always cleanse, exfoliate, and apply my even tone correctors, vitamin c, and a hydra gel like this one (medical grade) or this one (clean). I am all about “clean” skincare or medical grade.. nothing in between. And as always, I top with sunscreen.
