Alix- do you like the Doodle Roll for Quinn? Thinking about getting one for my daughter’s birthday.
I ordered Quinn a doodle roll after seeing it on Somewhere Lately’s Instagram. Quinn loves to color and do art, so I thought this would be something she would be obsessed with and would keep her really busy. I didn’t do my research and realize that you have to use washable markers and when she colors on the paper the marker wipes off really easily meaning it smudges and doesn’t color in the pictures all that well. I love the fact that it’s reusable and really cute with her name on it, but just don’t feel like for the price it’s worth it TBH. She likes it, but isn’t OBSESSED as I was hoping lol.
Heather- where did you stay in Scottsdale? I’m headed there in a few weeks and still need to book a hotel…any advice is welcomed!
We stayed at the JW Marriott Camelback Inn and it is a beautiful property with easy access to restaurants and shops. It is fairly friendly with multiple pools, playground, wide open lawns, and outdoor dining. We went to the W for the day on Saturday and it is a straight up CLUB. Think Vegas. Do NOT stay there if you want any sort of relaxation or sleep. There are some really high-end resorts in Scottsdale like The Scott and the Andaz but the JW was just convenient and all of my girlfriends and I have status with the hotel through our husbands who travel a ton. Have a great time.. and pack your SPF (had to).
Speaking of Arizona, where did you eat, go out, walk to, etc?
There is so much to do in the Scottsdale area and the restaurants and hotels are amazing! The W is a really fun day/pool party if you’re looking for a “scene”.. like a total s show but great people watching haha. As for food, we went to Nobu (sushi) and it blew us all out of the water… even people in our group who don’t LOVE sushi. There is something for everyone on the menu. And then we went to Toca Madera (upscale organic Mexican cuisine) for craft margaritas, chips/guacamole and tacos. Again, something for everyone on the menu. As for walking, you can hike Camelback mountain. And lastly, the Kierland area has some amazing shopping, restaurants, juice bars, etc.
Can you link the mini fan you use on your Peloton bike?
This is the fan I initially got for the stroller since I plan on going on lots of walks this summer with baby girl and Daisy. I tested it out on my bike and immediately ordered another. I have this blasting on my face during rides and honestly not sure how I ever rode the bike without it now.
Do you use / have any favorite eye lash serums? Have you tried dime lash serum?
Yep, I use Revitalash consistently.. at least once a day, sometimes twice a day (morning and night). This stuff works miracles. I used to have lash extensions and when I was over those, I had eyelash NUBS. The saddest lashes you can imagine. I tried other serums but Revitalash worked the best for me and I noticed the biggest change. Now, my lashes hit the top of my eyelid. I haven’t heard of Dime lash serum?! I will check it out though… however, I am very loyal to my Revitalash 🙂
Do you have any recommendations for outdoor dining spots in Seattle that are kid friendly?
Alix may be a better judge of this and it also depends on which neighborhood you’re in? If you’re asking about downtown Seattle, we can’t recommend anything right now. It’s not exactly kid-friendly at the moment. There are some amazing micro breweries around NE Seattle or in U Village that are great for the whole family. The area around Shake Shack in U Village is perfect for young families. If you’re more in the Fremont/Ballard area, we love Frelard Pizza or Fremont Brewery.
Alix- I’m only really familiar with NE Seattle area and U Village is a great spot for the whole family and they have a newer awesome outdoor area for kids to run around and lots of restaurant options. We also like to go to Ridge Pizza, Varlamos, Byrant Corner Cafe, Magnuson Brewery…all very casual. You could also hit up Ivar’s in Northlake/Wallingford neighborhood which has great outdoor dining and sits right on the water.
Have you tried the Vuori jogger over the aligns? What are your thoughts?
Yes, the Vuori clothing line is BUTTERY beautifulness! I have two girlfriends who love their line and I just purchased their joggers and the price is similar to Lululemon (I get a M in the jogger). This tank is darling on, too! I do love Lulu but because I workout at home now and not in studio anymore, I tend to purchase my workout clothes from Target and Amazon.. no one sees me haha. If I splurge on a nice jogger, it would be Lululemon, Athleta or Vuori and right now Vuori wins. I just don’t find myself at Lulu or tempted to buy anything from them right now.. the sizing is always sold out and I get annoyed so I just buy elsewhere.
Can you link your favorite tinted SPF/moisturizer for the upcoming heat?!
So I love a few! This one is a new favorite, this one is an old tried and true, and this one my girlfriend turned me on to in Arizona and it is also SO easy to apply to your kids (and leaves a pretty shimmer on your skin)!
I just got my hair colored and my stylist said I should be using purple shampoo, leave in conditioner, and a hair mask to keep my blonde from turning brassy. Any recommendations?
This is our favorite purple shampoo, leave in conditioner, and hair mask to help keep the blonde from turning brassy.
Cheers, Alix + Heather
