I’m going on a girls trip to Park City, UT in November and have no idea what to wear! It won’t be snowing but still cold. Help with some outfits!
Fun! Park City is low key fab.. no need to be over the top and flashy. As long as you’re warm, that’s really the only thing that matters. A good coat like this or this for layering, a thick shacket, and sweaters are perfect. A practical pair of boots is also critical.. nothing with a crazy heel (or a heel at all). Throw in some beanies and warm socks and you’re set!
I’m looking for a cute catchall tray for my bedside table…any cute suggestions?
Love anything mirrored or marble.. love this one especially for the price! This one has a great color palette depending on your room colors. If you can find a vintage tray on Etsy, I’d say go for it.. nothing like one of kind for your bedside essentials.
Looking to order new Christmas stockings for my family this year. Do you know a good place to order them and get them personalized?
We usually get ours from Pottery Barn! Advice: get classic ones that will age well so your kids will have them and keep them when they’re older 🙂
I have a big round dining table and having a difficult time figuring out what decor to keep on it…any inspo?
I have a round dining table and have this white accent bowl with moss balls in it. It looks so clean and chic. Another idea is three candlesticks of varying height with white candles in them.
I recently moved to Seattle and wondering if I should start taking vitamin D this winter? Anything else you girls do to keep your mood up during the grey and dark months coming up?
One word answer: YES! Vitamin D is known as the sunshine vitamin because our bodies manufacture it when we spend time in the sunlight. Vitamin D is such an important vitamin (although it’s more of a hormone) and has so many functions in the body. It helps to regulate hundreds of different pathways in your body and ever cell in your body needs Vitamin D. It helps fight off depression, improves immunity, strengthens bones, essential for brain health, protects the heart, fights inflammation, can help improve metabolism, and sleep!
Since we clearly do not get enough sunshine in Seattle, it is definitely essential that you’re supplementing. I’d encourage you to first make an appointment with your PCP or naturopath to get your labs checked and get a baseline level so you know how much to supplement. Ideally you want your levels between 60-80. There are foods higher in Vitamin D like tuna, salmon, cod liver oil, mushrooms, organic eggs, and sardines, but overall it’s difficult to meet your Vitamin D needs via food.
October-April (ish) can honestly be rough in Seattle. We are both from CA and have a tough time with it. Most people in Seattle plan a vacation somewhere sunny in the Winter. Having a vacation to look forward to helps. Stay busy and bundle up and try to still get outside as much as possible even if you don’t want to- you’ll feel better. I love going to City Sweats during the Winter for an infrared sauna sess. I also want to get a Happy Light– I’ve heard good things about this helping with seasonal depression.

What retinol do you use to diminish the look of fine lines?! Trying to reverse the aging process as much as possible!
I (Heather) use SkinMedica 1.0 3x a week. I am trying to work my skin up to 6-7x a week but for now, I am easing into the process! I have also used Skinceuticals and love it just as much. 1% is the strongest you can get so work your way up!
Alix- I miss my retinol so much and can’t wait to start again once I’m done breastfeeding. I also use Skin Medica 1.0 and love it!
If you had to pick your favorite candle, what would it be?
I always find myself coming back to this beautiful scent. It’s floral but not too much.. it just brings the house alive and I get complimented on it whenever we have guests.
I want a bar cart for my dining room to display all our liquor and pretty cocktail glassware. Any ideas where to shop for one?
This one from Target is adorable (love the gold) as is this mid-century inspired one! Amazon also has some great options like this one!
Cheers to the weekend!
