I am new to the area (Gig Harbor) and a new mom. My baby just turned three months. My husband wants to take a small trip within driving distance in mid December when the baby will be about 4.5 months old. Are there any resorts you would recommend as moms that are baby friendly? Or areas that would be good to do an Air BNB? I really don’t want to travel more than two hours. I feel like we’ll just go somewhere and lay low (because what else can babies go do on a trip?! Nice accommodations are probably ideal. I would probably rather stay home but want to at least humor him with a suggestion!
Honestly, getting out with your baby and doing fun things is SO important.. even if it feels overwhelming at first. You will never regret taking a trip with your little family! Going somewhere like Whidbey Island and staying at the Inn at Langley or Salish Lodge & Spa in Snoqualmie Falls would be beautiful. I would say most hotels around us are “baby friendly”.. just ask for a pack n play. Another idea is going to Woodinville and staying at Willows Lodge. Now, wine tasting may not sound baby friendly but honestly, I’ve done it with all of my infants lol 🙂 You can have lunch at Purple or The Commons and hit a couple of wineries like Chateau St. Michele and walk around the beautiful property. Willows has an amazing spa you should go to while your husband watches the baby 😉 At 4.5 months old, you can bring baby anywhere and hopefully they just sleep on the go! This is seriously the perfect age to get out and about before they’re on a more rigid nap schedule!
I will be traveling with a 3 year old during the holidays. I would like to be comfortable but not look too much like a mess on the plane. Any good outfit suggestions for flying and maybe a what to wear/not to wear?
Girl, get yourself a jogger/sweatshirt set from Everlane or Lululemon and JET. I suggest darker colors in case of spillage from said 3 year old 😉 Also, pack yourself an extra tee shirt for yourself and for your little one. The key here is to be comfortable.. no need to impress anyone!

Alix can you link your outdoor sauna? Did the outdoor shower come with it?
The sauna is so cool, right?! We love it and it’s perfect for these cold winter days upon us. We ordered the sauna from this site and you can either have it come put together (costs extra) or as a kit you assemble yourself. If you know my husband you know he put it together himself lol. The shower is purchased separately from the sauna, but is so nice to rinse off mid sauna and get back in (hot-cold therapy).
Are you liking the Purple mattress so far? Do you think it’s worth the hype?
We LOVE our mattress and kicking ourselves for not pulling the trigger a long time ago. Also kicking ourselves for not getting their pillows to go with the bed, but perfect Christmas present. It feels like you’re sleeping on air. If there is a Purple store near you and you are on the hunt for a new mattress I highly recommend going to lay on one to see if you like it.
What mascara are you using these days? I need a new one that doesn’t fall!
I (Heather) use Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara and Ilia.. and Alix uses Ilia! We love both! I’ve used DiorShow in the past and Chantecaille but have since gone back to the other two I mentioned first!

I think this is the perfect occasion for a sequin duster or velvet blazer with a pretty, lace top or bodysuit and leather leggings or black pants. Or a fun jumpsuit! If you go with jeans and a pretty sweater instead of something more festive, dress it up with a statement earring or heels!

Alix any recommendations for a clean protein option?
Right now I’m using Be Well by Kelly’s protein powder and the ingredients are so simple and clean. It is $$$ though. I also have used and like this and this protein powder as well.
Alix what is the transition swaddle you’re using for Kinsley right now? How’s is working for her so far?
We are using the zipadee-zip swaddle for almost 2 weeks now without any disruptions in her sleep! She is rolling over and loves sleeping on her side and tummy. This sleep sack allows her to access her arms for safety, but still makes her feel contained.
