I need some cute baskets to hold pillows/blankets but nothing too expensive. Where do you get yours?
Target or Home Goods, girl. Always. I typically grab ones like these!
Heather – I love your Thanksgiving tablescape. What glassware, plates, decor do you use?
All of my fine china and glassware was gifted for our wedding 10 years ago but it is my favorite and we use it all the time. My stemware is Waterford in the Lismore pattern and my china is Lenox. Everything was purchased at Macy’s, who is always having a sale if you’re in the market for china and stemware. And for my brides who don’t think they need or want fine china (or don’t have the room for it), please reconsider. I will have these pieces forever and they come out for every special occasion.
Alix – I still need ideas for lunches. Do you change it up every day? Can you link your post about what you pack?
Here is the post I wrote about lunch ideas to pack for the kids. I switch it up a little everyday. For protein I usually give her turkey, peanut butter, or egg salad and pair that with either crackers, on a tortilla, or make it into sandwich. Then fruit (apples, strawberries, etc.) and veggies (cucumbers, carrots, tomatoes, etc.) I’ll throw in a fun side like chocolate bunny crackers, pretzels, dried mango, cheddar bunnies, etc. If I think she needs something extra I will throw in a yogurt pouch.
She’s not eating a lot of lunch it seems like lately and coming home telling me she is hungry. So I’ve started to re-plate the lunch she didn’t eat and serve it to her after school. I tell her if she finishes her lunch and is still hungry she can have another snack before dinner. This is when she will typically finish her fruit and veggies 😉
Alix- are you still breastfeeding? Have you introduced formula or solids? If so, what formula are you using?
I’m weaning off pumping…my goal was to make it 6 months and we are almost there. I’m pumping 2 x day now and she gets about half breastmilk and half formula a day. I have some breastmilk in the freezer so she will continue to get some for a while (and I’ll save some in case she gets sick). I just ordered Bobbi formula and she drink formula and breastmilk interchangeably without any issues thankfully. I have knee surgery 12/2 so my goal is to be dne pumping by then.
She’s definitely interested in solids so I plan to start that very soon, but have been putting it off until I got her high chair (we ordered this one) and I took this baby led weaning course. I plan to do a mixture or BLW and purees because honestly I’m very anxious about choking, so will do what makes me most comfortable in the beginning and see how she does.
I need a new wreath for the door this year and a holiday mat. Help!
I love this wreath and this oversized one. I typically like to keep it in the green family and nothing too over the top. Simple and classic. As for mats, you could layer this one (or this one) on top of this plaid rug for a really chic front porch! Paired with the wreaths and some poinsettias.. perfection.
Have you tried the Elta MD tinted SPF or just the plain? Is it still your favorite?
We haven’t tried the tinted but might do that next when our regular SPF runs out. There is nothing like the Elta MD SPF.. it goes on so creamy smooth! Will forever be an “empty,” something we purchase over and over again.
Alix- do you like the Skip Hop activity mat? Is it worth the $$?
Yes, we love it! Now that is is rolling around and we have hardwood floors she needed somewhere to do floor time and hang with her toys. I also love this activity mat option as well and almost went this route.
What is on your holiday wishlist? I need some inpo!
Alix: I’m probably the wrong person to ask because I want an Oura ring and nut milk maker lol. I’m also asking for gift card to Skin Spirit because come January when I’m done breastfeeding my face needs all the peels and botox!
Heather: This blanket and these sneakers are on my list so far!
Cheers, Heather & Alix
