Have you tried the Elta MD tinted sunscreen for everyday? Or just the regular one? Curious if the tinted is just as good!
Yes I just purchased it and it’s the perfect SPF for the winter months when we are feeling pasty and washed out! It adds a little tint and I don’t need anything else on my skin for everyday errands. The reason I love Elta MD SPF is because it is also a great makeup primer. You can wear it under foundation without issue. It just goes on so creamy and smooth.. not thick and goopy. I wear it daily, rain or shine!
Heather I love your long stem wine glasses. Can you link them?
Thank you! I love them too! If you ever watched Scandal, you know Olivia Pope always drank her red out of these glasses.
I want to get my little girls a play kitchen set but everything is either so expensive or just too colorful. I want something neutral and pretty that will blend in with the rest of the house!
I came across this one and think it’s DARLING (and under $70!)
What retinol do you use? I am in the market and don’t know where to start!
We use SkinMedica retinol (we’ve worked our way up to 1.0 but start with a lower formula if this is your first time). Retinol and SPF are two of the most important skin care products you should be using in your lineup to slow down the aging and wrinkle process.. according to the professional women we consult with at SkinSpirit 🙂
My almost 2 year old doesn’t eat! She is so picky and only eats a handful of foods and it’s driving me crazy- any tips?
It’s SO stressful! It used to really make me so frustrated when Quinn wouldn’t eat, be super picky, throw food, etc and I’ve really just let it go and try my best to follow Ellyn Satter’s division of responsibility of feeding approach. It’s your job as the parents to serve a variety of food at meal and snack times and your child’s job to decide what and how much. If you think they are nutrient deficient – talk to your doctor about supplements. Unless pediatrician is concerned and they are falling off growth charts they are likely getting in enough.
A few IG accounts I follow and like are feeding littles, crystalkarges, healthy.mom.healthy.kids, plantbasedjuniors, kids.nutritionist, kids.eat.in.color, mamaknowsnutrition are a few I really like!
Alix what pumping bra did you use?
Nothing fancy! I just got this one off Amazon and it did the trick! Daisy ruined one (she loved trying to get this bra because it smelled like milk I’m sure…weirdo) so I was happy is wasn’t too $$$.
Can you link those (uncrustable) sandwich cutters?
They are so fun right? Here is the link…I also used them to make a turkey sandwich the other day and it came out great. I found this bread works well!
Alix- how did the breastfeeding weaning process go? Did your milk supply dry up on its own or did you have to do anything special to relieve pressure? Also, how do you feel?
It went as well as possible I think. I exclusively pumped for almost 5 months. I was pumping 5-6 x day to meet Kin’s needs then when I decided to wean I dropped to 4 x day for about 1-2 weeks then 3 pumps then 2 pumps. Once I dropped to two pumps a day my supply was very low so, I quickly dropped to 1 pump a day for a few days then just stopped. I had to self express and massage for about a week after to get everything out.
Emotionally, I definitely FELT.IT. I was very emotional and anxious about stopping and the hormone shifts made me all over the place. It’s a hard choice, but I had a 6 month deadline because of knee surgery and was so proud of myself for making it so long. So, I tried to remain positive about it when I felt guilt.
I also suffered from something I just recently learned about called D-MER (dysphoric milk ejection reflex) which was a hormonal response to letdown. For about the first 30-60 seconds of pumping I would get intense anxiety and feel physically sick. That wave would pass and I would settle into the pumping session, but I dreaded every time I needed to pump.
Cheers,
Alix & Heather
