If you were to have your wedding today, what would you do the same and what, if anything, would you change?! Beginning planning and need all the advice.
Heather: I’m not sure I’d change anything about my wedding! My husband and I got married in the summer down in Newport Beach (close to where I’m from) and it was less than 125 people. Maybe I would have had a band.. that is one thing that my friends had that was a HIT. Spend money on good beverages and entertainment and a videographer/photographer (yes, both). Otherwise, no one remembers any of the other details that you go crazy fussing over.
Alix: At the time my wedding was exactly what I wanted. I wanted something on the smaller side (80). Besides a heat wave in October in Northern CA it was the perfect day. Food was very important to me, so a lot of our budget went towards that. So figure out what aspects are most important to you and put your energy into those things. A good photographer, music, drinks, and food and you’re set. I did not want the night to end, so have an after party planned and a good brunch for the next day 😉
How do you organize your jewelry? I need something to keep all my necklaces separate so they don’t get tangled and I also love to see everything…when hidden in a box I forget about it until it’s out of style!
Get hooks and screw them into your closet, which is what I have. I also do this with my sunglasses and hats so I can see them all on display when getting dressed.
How do you organize your bathroom products and makeup? I don’t want it all over the counter but in some cases I have to otherwise I’ll forget to apply something important. So I want it look cute! Help!
A cute tray for your countertop is step number one (I think we both have this one!) If you’re able to fit a lot of products in drawers, I just use these organizers in a bunch of different shapes and sizes (just make sure you measure height and length to ensure they will fit in your specific drawers).
I am getting married this spring and need some rehearsal dinner outfit inspo!
Here you go!
I’m going on a girls trip to Laguna Beach in a few weeks. Any favorite brunch spots you’d recommend? Thanks!
Fun! I checked in with a girlfriend who lives there and these are her recs. Las Brisas (bottomless mimosas), Splashes at the Surf and Sand Hotel, the Loft at the Montage, Driftwood Kitchen, Oak, and Nick’s. The first 4 places have amazing ocean views!
What protein powder do you use in your smoothies? Would you recommend it? Any others you like?
I am currently using Be Well by Kelly’s and it’s $$$. I would recommend it because the quality is top notch, but there are others out there with similar quality for less. Primal Kitchen also makes a good protein powder and this Garden of Life if you’re looking for a plant based protein powder.
I follow a few IG accounts and it seems like all they do is exercise. Is there such a thing as exercising too much to the point it’s unhealthy?
Yes! I’m seeing this too. Over exercising or compulsive exercise is a serious and real problem where exercising becomes unhealthy. If exercise is done when sick, injured, extremely fatigued, or to compensate for eating something it’s unhealthy. I often ask clients how they feel if they miss a day or two of exercise and how they cope with that. If someone is exercising for an excessive amount of time without taking days off this is putting them at risk for injury as well. I’ve gotten super into recovery and now have a better understanding of how important proper recovery after exercise is in order to stay healthy and be able to workout harder on more active days.
Alix- can you link the CBD gummies you like and showed on IG?
My girlfriend told me about Bizzy CBD gummies (they are local) and I’ve only tried their green queen and really like it! It helps take the edge off in the evening instead of having a drink. These are helping me drink less alcohol during the week (and weekends) and just help me chill a bit more.
