What do you think of TRU supplement? My friend has been taking it for years and swears by it.
NAD+ supplements and IVs are definitely trending right now. Like all supplements be weary as they are not regulated by the FDA. It seems there is some promising science to support NAD+ supplementation for certain neurological dysfunctions, depression and other psychological disorders, and inflammatory diseases that should be treated with a doctor. I wouldn’t recommend taking this supplement long term unless instructed by your doctor. If you have a condition that you think NAD+ will improve, speak with your doctor first and an IV supplement may be more beneficial.
Alix do you you feel like you are back to your pre-baby strength working out? If so, how long do you feel like it took and what helped you get there?
I think so? Hard to tell. After two babies and getting older I’m not sure I’ll ever have my pre-baby fitness level back completely but I am feeling strong. I took it much slower after Kinsley. I learned the hard way trying to jump back into my normal fitness routine WAY too soon after Quinn. I think it took me 6-9 months to get my muscle tone back.
I focus a lot more on strength training these days and love the classes Peloton offers. I’m also getting back into Orange Theory 1 x week for something fun to keep me motivated. I liked barre, but would rather be lifting heavier weights for strength training to get the most out of my workout. I plan to write a blog post about the importance of women strength training and lifting heavier weights (esp. as we age). I think weights, walking, and stretching is a perfect balance for me right now.
Hi, hoping you could help with ideas for engagement gifts! Thanks!
I (Heather) am pretty old school when it comes to engagement/wedding gifts because of what I registered for as a bride 10 years ago. I wanted fine china, vases and frames (that, yes, I still use to this day and are displayed around my house). If the couple you’re buying for is like me, then a set of champagne flutes or a crystal frame that is timeless is a beautiful and thoughtful gift. Think Tiffany’s, Baccarat or Waterford. If you want to go with something more ”modern” then something personalized like this champagne bowl or cheese board is always appreciated I think!
I love your dough bowl on your dining table.. can you link some options in various sizes?
Yes! Love mine and it’s from Etsy but here are some great options: one | two | three
How do you guys organize your family pictures? Albums? So many just sitting on my phone.
Heather: I have NO advice lol. I print the pictures I want and they are unorganized in a bin and then just on my phone. If anyone has a system or method, COMMENT BELOW!!
Alix: I wish I had a better method. For out annual family pictures I have them all saved in dropbox by the year. Like Heather, I just print off what I want and frame as I go. There is no organization on my phone either. HELP US!!
I need a baby shower outfit and baby shower hostess gifts.. help!
For baby shower dresses, I always looked at ASOS because their maternity line isn’t awful like the rest I’ve seen! Alix wore a dress from Pink Blush and like their selection for baby shower dresses. Also, don’t feel obligated to wear blue or pink based on the gender you’re expecting unless you want to of course. Have fun with it! If you don’t want to buy a maternity dress, buy a maxi dress with a tight waist you can tie above your belly!
As for shower hostess gifts, if they love champagne or wine attach this to a bottle or a personalized makeup bag.. other options here.
I need a dress for a formal wedding this summer!
Ideas for a new dining room rug?
We both have ruggable rugs in our dining room because they look good and easy to throw in the wash if it gets spilled on which ours always do because kids! We also love their runners for the kitchen.
