Out of curiosity, what time do you both go to bed and wake up? I have very small children as well and am always exhausted. I struggle with feeling rested and I would love to get into a better sleep routine. Would love to hear your tips!
Alix: Having good sleep hygiene and a sleep routine is important. I wrote up my sleep routine here. I wake up between 5:30-6am and get in bed around 8:30-9pm with hopes to being asleep by 9:30pm.
Heather: My sleep routine is really similar to Alix’s! I try to be asleep by 9:30 and I’m usually up by 6:30 if not sooner because I am pretty rested at 7.5-8 hours of sleep. I leave my phone in the bathroom and no blue light before bed. Magnesium helps me a ton, too!
What app do you use for your audio books?
I use Libby! I was spending so much on Audible and feeling pressured to finish a book I didn’t love because I had paid for it. If you have a library card you can borrow books and audibles for 21 days free from the library. There is usually a wait for popular books, but I feel like I’m always able to get a book I want.
Alix- are you taking nutrition clients and if not, would you consider it?! 😉
I don’t have any clients right now, but I do miss my private practice. If you’re interested shoot me an email with what’s going on 😉
Can you link some cute, but cheap sunglasses for the summer?
I’ve been wearing my Amazon (Celine look alikes here) and Target sunnies a ton already this summer because I was in Wisconsin where they get beat to hell. Love a cheap sunglass that I don’t care if they get scratched or stretched.
Looking for a cute pair of huggies/simple small hoops!
Love Miranda Frye for stuff like this because they last and are good quality. This ear cuff and these double hoops with chain are my favorite!
Can you link the free people dupe shorts with the thick waistband?
These! And we think they are more comfortable than the FP shorts 😉
What labs would you recommend asking my doctor for to check my hormones postpartum?
I would say wait until you’re completely done breastfeeding and have had a least 3 regular periods or more before you get your labs checked. Maybe even one year postpartum is a good time to check. Ask for testosterone, DHEA, estradiol, AM cortisol, progesterone, FSH. Some of these matter where you are in your cycle when you get your labs drawn. I also think it’s always a good idea to get a yearly CBC, lipid panel, and Vitamin D.
Heather- I love Parker’s room! Can you link the bed, bookshelves, and pillows please!
Thanks! His bed, bookshelves, and pillows!
Do you like your Simple Modern tumbler better than the Stanley?
I like the Simple Modern tumbler a lot and I love the straw that comes with it! It’s just different than the Stanley. The Stanley is bigger and bulkier, so that one usually stays home and the Simple Modern goes with me on walks and errands. I personally think the Yeti keeps water the coldest (besides my hydroflask). I’m a water bottle hoarder!!
