What is your favorite tanning drops/lotion + applicator?
I no longer tan my face at the recommendation of my esthetician as it breaks me out but for my body I love Lux Unfiltered gradual the most and it smells amazing (not like gross tanning smell we all hate). If you need a tan worthy of an event, this is my favorite tanning mousse with this mitt.
Alix- can you explain the importance of magnesium in our diet or supplement form? How many milligrams should we be taking daily and do you take it for sleep?
I wrote a post here all about magnesium. I take 2 of these capsules at night to help with relaxation and sleep. The Recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA) for adults 19-51+ years is 400-420 mg daily for men and 310-320 mg for women, taking more can cause GI issues.
There is some controversy on fish oil and if it actually does anything. Do you take it and if so, what brand?
I do take fish oil because I typically don’t get the recommended 2-3 servings of fatty fish per week (I wish I did!). Omega-3 fatty acids can be found in different amounts via seafood, fish oil, flax and chia seeds.
Omega-3’s are an essential nutrient for heart and brain health. Omega 3’s are also necessary to help balance the omega 6 to omega 3 ratio that is typically out of balance in most American diets. Omega 6’s are pro-inflammatory…we need them in our diet, but we typically consume way too much.
Supplement: recommendation of 250-500 mg DHA and EPA daily (and that’s me being conservative) and quality matters significantly. I love Nordic Naturals. Yes, flax seeds, chia seeds, and walnuts are good sources of omega 3’s, but a different type called ALA (alpha linolenic acid) which does not convert 100%! That’s why I recommend a supplement because it’s just tough to get adequate DHA and EPA Omega’s via food. FYI: You don’t need an Omega complex…just the 3’s
