Can you link the cute H&M loungewear you bought earlier this week?
A bunch of cute items here:
What are your must have makeup products right now?
I plan to do a whole post but here are some recent favorites:
What running shoes are your favorite?
We love the Pegasus and both ran in them for our half marathon. I (Heather) recently bought these because my husband has them and convinced me to splurge and I do not regret the decision. However, I still love Pegasus as a more budget friendly option.
Can you link the humidifier you use in your bedroom?
Tis the season for dry skin (and sickness) so time to bust out the humidifiers! This one is a recent favorite.
Alix – what is your take on all these celebrities using Ozempic for weight loss or semaglutide in general?
Ozempic is a drug for pre diabetics and type 2 diabetics (GLP-1 inhibitor) and it increases insulin sensitivity and helps manage blood sugar stabilization. People are using it for weight loss because it slows down digestion so you don’t feel as hungry. It was approved by the FDA as a weight loss drug recently.
If you have GI issues it can make your problems worse and rebound weight gain is likely once you come off the medication. By not changing any habits and just taking a “magic pill” you’re not learning anything and this is not a realistic long term weight management tool. Ozempic is being used for weight loss in non diabetics and now there is a shortage for people who actually need it- not cool!
On the other hand, if there is someone who is morbidly obese and trying to avoid gastric bypass surgery this may be a tool to help with significant weight loss, WHILE ALSO WORKING WITH A DIETITIAN 😉
Sorry, but there is no magic pill or potion. Invest in your health by working with someone like an RD to help you learn healthier habits that are sustainable. Eat whole food, drink water, move your body daily, get adequate sleep, and manage stress. Focus on the basics. Do most of these things most of the time and you’re going to be much better off than taking shady meds 😉
What is the difference between KION and LMNT? And when do you drink them?
LMNT is an electrolyte mix that is high in salt. You do not necessarily need to take electrolytes daily, but should take them when you’re sweating a lot (sauna, intense exercise, etc), sick/unwell and losing fluids via diarrhea or vomiting. Can also be helpful when traveling to help stay hydrated.
Kion is an amino acid powder that I take to help with muscle recovery and growth post workout. I like to add 1 scoop of Kion with a packet LMNT (both lime flavors) in my blender bottle after a hard workout or sauna session to help support recovery. You can also take before a workout for pre-workout energy or during a long workout. It is also a great product if you have trouble meeting your daily protein needs and you don’t want to use a protein powder.
What workout tops/crops/tanks are your favorite? How about workout socks?
Fave non crop tops: long sleeve | short sleeve | tank
Fave crops: long sleeve crop or this one (on sale!) crop tank (good for yoga/pilates) and this crop tank
Socks: these | these | these
Alix what app did you use to make your digital vision board? Love this idea!
Thank you! It was fun to make. I used Canva and they have a few vision board templates to choose from. Highly rec making one 😉 Here is mine if you missed it.
Have a great New Year,
Alix & Heather
