What size Vuori tank/sports bras do you wear? Their size guide is a little weird to me!
I (Heather) toggle between mediums and larges and it just depends on the cut and style. If it’s low cut, I size up to L since I am bigger busted but just normal tanks I am a medium. I just got this one (on sale!) and we both have and love this one!
Can you link your champagne coupe glasses from happy hour a couple weeks ago?
I found them at Home Goods but here are some I found that are similar and so cute.. love a coupe as it feels a little chic.
What facial did you get this week and how much does something like that run if you don’t mind me asking!
I see the ladies at Sapien Skin in South Lake Union and they do facials based on what your skin needs and nothing else… there’s no upselling but they’re going to tell you everything you don’t want to hear lol. If you go in there telling them what you want, they will turn you away. They diagnose skin issues based on science and I appreciate the no bullshit approach (to some it may come across abrasive but I find it direct, honest and enlightening). This past week I was in the sun for 7 days and even though I covered myself in SPF, the sun still got to me. So at my facial she cleansed me, dermaplaned (aka shaved), hit me with the IPL laser for brown spots (pigmentation), then did a hydra facial (hydration and cleaning out the pores), then lastly hit me with a CoolPeel laser (texture, fine lines, pores). It was the whole kit and caboodle, which ranges between $600-$800. If you decide to see the ladies at Sapien, tell them I sent you and you’ll get $50 off your treatment.
Anything special you guys are asking for for Mother’s Day?
Heather did a post here with some wishlist items that might help spark some ideas what to ask for. Alix new tradition that started last year is to get a hotel room for 24 hours to get a massage, order room service, binge watch shows, etc. Then home Sunday morning to spend with the family. It was so lovely last year, so I asked for that again this year.
Do either of you have The Shark hair dryer? I’m seeing it all over TikTok.
I (Alix) was about to buy the Dyson Air Wrap and my hair dresser told me to get the Shark instead. Not only is it half the cost she’s compared them and thinks it’s better. I’ve only used it a handful of times and I’m still learning how to use it to do curls, but so far I do really like it. It dries my hair super fast (faster than my T3).
Alix how did you find a therapist for Quinn. How’s it going?
I’m part of a mom’s Facebook group in my town and found them recommended on there. I did my research from there and it seemed like a good fit (she has a golden retriever in the office, so we were sold!). It’s going well. She looks forward it (it’s not forced). She’s working really hard on implementing some of the calming strategies she’s leaning and routine related goals we make in session. I’m really glad we are doing it.
How do you motivate to workout in the mornings before the kids get up?
I (Alix) have always been an early riser and a morning person. Even in college I would take the 6am spin class when I didn’t have morning soccer workouts. I love the feeling of getting it done right away and I think that feeling is what motivates me. I plan what Peloton classes I want to take the night before and create a fun workout that I actually look forward to doing (not dread). The harder workout like Thunder 45 I meet Heather on the tread so that motivates us both to show up. I have my workout clothes set out and get to bed early. I wrote a post about how to become a morning person that might help.
