This Herringbone coat by Madewell is SO cute! Everlane is one of my new favorite brands and so glad Nordstrom carries it! Their wool coat is so gorgeous. For a little flare, I just got this Topshop one!
Where do you buy your basic sweaters for cold weather season? I don’t want to spend over $100 for one grey sweater! Help!
H&M all the way! They have the best selection of sweaters, still great quality at a very affordable price point. Examples: here | here (I have this in multiple colors for layering)| here (looks so much more expensive than it is!) Also check out Abercrombie.. seriously, they have made the biggest comeback ever and there is always a sale. Don’t ever pay full price there. I mean this $34 mock neck sweater could pass for Banana Republic any day of the week!
Your favorite Drunk Elephant product and why.. GO!
Heather: OMG painful to choose ONE! But ok.. here it goes.. C-Firma Vitamin C Day Serum. It has been touted as being identical to Skinceuticals CE Ferulic, which is like $166 (hence why the company tried to sue Drunk Elephant for patent infringement). If it’s anything like the Skinceuticals formula, GIVE IT TO ME. Brightens and tones. Everyone should have a vitamin C routine in the AM after cleansing.
Alix: I agree with Heather that their C-Firma is SO good, but I also really like their A-Passioni Retinol. It’s a newer product from DE, but I’ve already finished one tube and will be refilling this product.
Have you started your Christmas wish list and if so, what’s on it?!
Heather: I don’t usually ask my husband for anything for the holidays but he’ll usually end up getting me something or buying me Nordy gift cards because he knows that’s the way to my heart. So if that’s the case, I have my eye on a new wallet or this pair of high top Golden Goose sneaks.
Alix: lol of course! I need/want a new black crossbody bag I can dress up or down, so I have a big ask this year. I want this purse or this one and this card holder to go with it.
What are some must-haves for a 1st birthday party?!
Parker’s 1st birthday is quickly approaching (less than a month away!) but I’ve thrown two other first bday parties so here’s what you need: BOOZE (for the parents obvi) and CAKE lol! Go onto Etsy to get all of your cute decor like a 1st birthday banner, outfit and cake toppers. As for a smash cake: I recommend giving your little one cake BEFORE the party (like on their actual bday or a couple days before) so they can try it. That way, when you deliver their smash cake on the actual birthday party day, they DIVE IN. You want those pics. I have seen it so many times where the kid just sits there and stares at the cake with the parents coaxing them into eating it. Not the pictures you want 😉
What is your go-to mascara?
Heather: My department go-to mascara is Diorshow and my go-to drug store mascaras are Covergirl Lash Blast (the orange one! Been wearing it since high school) and L’Oreal Paris Voluminous Superstar Mascara (the primer is CLUTCH).
Alix: I’m obsessed with Urban Decay’s Subversion Lash Primer it’s like magic keeping my mascara from smudging. I’m a big fan of Benefit’s mascara.
Would love your thoughts on the Laneige skin care line! The moisture cream smells amazing!
We haven’t tried the skincare line yet but are eager to try their toner.. it gets amazing reviews. They also have some packages you can try to test the products before you buy the full size. A lot like DE’s “Littles,” which we love.
What are some fall clothing trends you’ve been loving?
See this post! But one other item on my list are combat boots.. Dr. Marten’s are back and I have these black ones in my cart. Also loving puffer jackets from Abercrombie.. the black velvet, brown faux leather and brown teddy are my top picks.
I get really rosy after a workout. Any face care suggestions so I can get to work?
Yes! Here are some tips:
Immediately after your workout, splash your face with COLD water. If you can keep a wet, cold wash cloth on your face for a few minutes, this will help a ton. After you wash your face, make sure you moisturize to get water and hydration back into your skin. This water drench moisturizer would be ideal. If you have access to your ice roller, use that too! Other tips: don’t exfoliate too often or the morning you workout. Avoid alcohol and spicy foods before and after your workout (I mean, who’s DRINKING before a workout anyway lol). And maybe add some aloe vera to your skincare routine! Hope this helps!
I’m searching for cute new rain boots for my little girl…any suggestions?
Hunter boots are always our go-to rain boots…they are an investment for the little ones, but since we live in Seattle they get good use. Another cheaper option are these lace-up/zip-up ankle boots…the color options are adorable! The Rack also usually has cute and cheaper boots like these pink boots or these unicorn boots.
