A few weeks ago you posted a non-alcoholic rosé that I have been trying to hunt down but I can’t recall the name. Can you let me know what it’s called as I need some non-alcoholic options for the holidays? Thanks!
Yes, the brand is called Rock Grace and you can find it here. Here’s a little bit more about the company: Rock Grace is a bottled crystal elixir infused with a variety of crystals, botanicals, and adaptogens that encourage vibrational alignment and stimulate strength, grace, beauty, and love. The energy of the crystals and fine botanical and superherb ingredients enhance the elixir calming anxiety and stress while promoting mental and physical wellness and empowerment.
I love the EMU slippers and when reading the reviews I saw they run REALLY small…do you find that to be the case? One women said she normally wears an 8 and had to buy a size 10.
Heather: I ordered a size 10 and I am usually an 8.5. I could have gone with the 9 or 9.5 and would have been fine but my 10’s were comfortable from day 1. I didn’t have to really break them in.. while they were a little stiff, they weren’t too tight. My overall suggestion, go up at least 1/2 size. I have this pair and Alix has this pair in cream and burgundy.
Alix: For me they run TTS. I got my normal 9 (yes I know I have huge feet for my 5’4″ frame lol!). I definitely could have sized up to a 9.5 for a little extra room, but don’t think I needed a full size bigger. It took me about 2 weeks to break these slippers in. At first I wanted to return them thinking they didn’t fit well, but stick with it and they will mold to your feet perfectly and you’ll never want to take them off!
Can you link the gold ball bracelets I saw in your stories?
We can’t link them as we got them through a friend on Instagram but her handle is @ericawoolston and just direct message her to purchase! They are gold filled and come in a bunch of different sizes and she makes them to fit the exact size of your wrist. They are elastic, slide right on, and add such a cute everyday look to our bracelet stack. My small one is $45 and the larger is $50 with free shipping!
I need a 2020 day planner…any recommendations?
Heather: I just got a planner at Target by Cupcakes and Cashmere. I can’t find the exact one online but it looks a lot like this one and this one!
Alix: I just got this 2020 planner from Anthropologie, but Nordstrom carries it online as well. I also like these Day Designer planners.
Heather – how did your Friendsgiving charcuterie board turn out? Were there things you would add or omit next year?
It turned out so good!! Sharing a pic below 🙂 I went a little overboard this year and shopped at pretty expensive grocery stores to put this one together and honestly, I could have saved a ton of money by going to Costco or Trader Joe’s …but hindsight is 20/20 😉 My bread didn’t fit on this board but I did a large baguette that I cut up and really thin wafer crackers to house all the goods. Most people gravitate toward the cheeses and prosciutto. I did goat brie, blue, and a truffle brie that was to die for. I could have omitted the dried fruits like cranberries, figs, apricots and dates but they added some color and dimension to the board. I didn’t have pistachios or nuts on the board this year and people typically like that. But overall, I think the board was really pretty!
Pregnancy question! I just got done with my Dr appointment and my doc said that I need to up my protein to 100 grams a day and said to incorporate 3 protein powder shakes daily (whey based preferred). It’s a little tricky because a) it has to be protein powder that can be consumed while pregnant and b) I find that there is sometimes a lot of junk in protein powder. Are there any particular brands you might recommend?
I really like Garden of Life and Primal Kitchen protein powders. Both of these brands carry clean protein powders to help you reach that 100 gram protein a day recommendation!
I’ve cut back on my exercise (I used to overexercise and trying to cut back and be more chill) and I’m noticing my metabolism has slowed down. Food isn’t moving through me as quickly (constipation) and I’m just feeling sluggish. How can I get my metabolism back on track with my new routine?
Ugh the worst feeling, but good for you for listening to your body and slowing down! It can take your body a few weeks to a few months to catch up to the change in your routine. Your digestion and metabolism will adjust, so be patient. In the meantime tricks that might help: apple cider vinegar, probiotics, magnesium, and dandelion bitters. I’ve heard good things about this probiotic I plan to try once my run out of my current probiotics (which I love). Drink plenty of water and eat a high fiber diet (25-35 grams fiber from whole food sources) to keep things moving along. It’s awesome you’ve cut back on exercise, but movement can help keep things moving along…so aim for a minimum of 7,000-8,000 steps a day.
