I need a green powder to add to my morning smoothie. Any recs?
I like Super Greens and Amazing Grass and Green Vibrance. This question just reminded me that I need to reorder my favorite green powder I was using a lot in my smoothies…Green Dream, so thank you!
Do you have an easy peasy soup recipe I could throw in the crockpot before work?
Easy soup recipes I like |one | two | three | If you want something a little heartier I like this chicken taco chili recipe. This one isn’t a crock pot recipe, but super fast and SO good!
The hype around Vintner’s Daughter serum is unreal, like UNREAL. Have you heard anything? Debating the splurge because you only have one face.
Alright, yes I have heard the hype and there are a lot of bloggers who say they can’t live without it. Vintner’s Daughter has two serums I’ve seen.. one for $225 and one for $185. OUCH. And most people have BOTH because they’re meant to be used together. Double whammy OUCH.
It claims to be the brightening, tightening, corrective serum we’ve all waited for and needed in our lives but I just don’t have it in me to pull the trigger on it. It has a bunch of botanical oils and essential oils in it.. ingredients that some would say clogs pores and creates acne in some skin types. Hmmmm. Skeptical.
Alix and I regularly see skin care specialists at reputable salons and none of them have ever recommended this serum.. although, devil’s advocate here.. they don’t carry it in their salon so why would they recommend it, right? BUT, we have relationships with them where we think they’d tell us the truth if Vintner’s Daughter or any other cult product was worth the hype.
If our opinion should ever change on this, we will let you know. For now, we aren’t spending over $400 on two serums that may or may not brighten our skin. We’ll continue to use and love on our Drunk Elephant serums, which have worked wonders for us!
I’m doing some travel these next few months and looking for a cute carry on/gym bag…any recs?

Can you link the red slippers from your Happy Hour post last week? So cute and festive!
Yes! These are the ones Heather has in crimson fire and Alix has these ones in pinot noir.
I’m also loving the high top trend right now like you guys. Obviously obsessed with the Golden Goose ones, but can’t splurge on those right now. Can you link more affordable options?
Those GG ones are AMAZING, but we agree it is an investment. Here are good options that are less $$$ | one | two | three | four | five |
Heather- how was your trip to Disney?! Can you share your tips with us!?
Our trip to Disney was as magical as you can imagine 🙂 We went on Thanksgiving Day and while long, holiday weekends are typically the most crowded at the park, it was a RAINY DAY so the fair weather Southern Californians stayed away 😉 Being from Seattle, my kids couldn’t have cared less that it was raining! Throw on a parka and let’s HIT IT.
We had a “hopper” pass but ended up only staying in Disneyland and not venturing to California Adventure so I don’t have tips for that. But we started in the main park and my advice is to get there early and hit the most popular rides in the beginning of the day. Space Mountain and Indiana Jones always have the longest lines and they just get worse and worse as the day progresses. Make your way to the back of the park and work your way forward because most people start in the very front because their kids are excited and see rides they want to hit. Pack snacks (SO MANY SNACKS), extra clothes for everyone, and download The Disney app before you get there. You can order food from the app and have it ready for pick up so you don’t have to stand in any lines. Make sure your stroller meets the NEW Disney requirements (double BOBs I think are too big?) and if it’s raining, bring a towel and water resistant clear covers for your stroller. Other than that, I don’t have much advice since we’ve only been once with the kids. We plan to go every two years so that our middle and youngest get the same Disney experience we just gave Jackson so as we continue to go, I’m sure I’ll think of more helpful hints, tips and tricks of the park!
Thank you for your questions via DM and email this week! Keep them coming.
