When are you guys going to jump on the All Birds train?
There really is no specific reason we haven’t tried them yet. I know people are obsessed and they even have a store at U Village in Seattle. I think we just love our Nike and Adidas sneakers for workouts and athleisure that we haven’t strayed.
What are your favorite fitness studios in Seattle?
For barre we love Barre3 (childcare!) and Pure Barre. For yoga, we love Corepower and Shefayoga. For HIIT, our favorite is Barry’s but hard to get to South Lake Union so we settle on Orange Theory. And for pilates, we love Studio 45!
Alix can you link your “skin fridge” and what you’re storing in it? Are you liking it so far?
Here is the fridge I got and so far I’m loving it. I keep my C-Firma, these Water Drench Hydra-Gel Eye Patches, this Watermelon GLOW sleep mask, my rose quartz facial roller, my gua sha facial tool, this ice roller. I can fit a few more small things in it, so will continue to add. My inspo was Lauryn from The Skinny Confidential and she wrote about her skin fridge here.
What is your favorite day planner for the New Year? Like an actual planner you write in 🙂
We are all about the hand-written planner! Heather has this Cupcakes and Cashmere planner from Target. I love the simple, classic design and it has plenty of writing space for notes! Alix has this Fringe planner for 2020.
Tell us why we should be taking Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) shots each morning. I keep seeing this on your stories but not sure the benefits.
This question is a good reminder for me to get back on my morning ACV shots. I’ve been slacking this week with Christmas (when I’ve needed them more than ever!). Ok, so here’s the scoop of ACV:
ACV has a ton of health claims such as helping with managing blood sugars (helpful in keeping insulin stable) and managing diabetes, weight loss by promoting satiety, reduce belly fat, protective effects against cancer, lower cholesterol levels, heart health, and increased energy. Some of these claims are backed up by scientific studies some are not (why I’m giving this a “both” rating).
ACV is highly acidic so limit intake to 1-2 tablespoons/day. If you’re new to ACV start small with 1-2 teaspoons and see how you tolerate. It is recommended to use organic, unfiltered apple cider vinegar and you can use in cooking or dilute in water and drink.
Heather – can you do a makeup and hair tutorial or tell us what products you use?
Yes! I can dedicate two whole posts to this topic and maybe I’ll try to do a live Instagram tutorial if I can get savvy enough! But in the meantime, these are the hair and makeup products I use religiously:
My toddler is starting daycare in 2 weeks and I have no idea how to prepare for it. Any tips?
Honestly, there isn’t much you can do besides talk about it a lot leading up to the first day and then if there are tears (likely) at drop off, the BEST thing you can do is drop, hug, and RUN. Let the teachers step in and do their thing.. this is what they are trained to do! The longer you linger and let the tears continue, the harder it will be for both of you! Within 3-5 minutes, the tears will stop and she will forget all about how sad she was and get to all the fun!
Where do you find your recipes?
We find a lot of our recipes on Pinterest (check our page here where we Pin a ton).
Can you each share what your favorite posts of 2019 were to write?
Heather: My three favorite posts I wrote were 1. My Morning and Nighttime Skincare routine, 2. Our Seawheeze Half Marathon Recap, and 3. My Beginner’s Guide to Skincare. Skincare is always something I love writing about and the Seawheeze Half Marathon still feels surreal to me.. I can’t believe I accomplished that goal 🙂 Thankful for Alix for pushing and encouraging me along the way!
Alix: I loved our “Rocktober” challenge. It was so fun having our community come together and motivate each other in our health goals. We definitely plan to do that again! I enjoyed writing and think it’s a good reminder this time of year my post on Why You Shouldn’t Go on a Diet. Lastly, I like writing more personal post like How I Maintain my Mental Health and My Experience Wth Postpartum Anxiety because this is also part of wellness and something we should be talking more about.
Thanks for your questions this week and hope you all had a very Merry Christmas!
