Alix- What is your morning beverage line up and can you remind me what the benefits of drinking apple cider vinegar are? What is the recipe you make in the morning with it?
I have been lagging on my morning elixer and have been going straight for the coffee #tired but this question is good reminder to get back on it! I do try and drink at least a cup of water before my coffee though because we wake up dehydrated so best to hydrate. As for my elixer I do one packet Oxylent (no added sugar like Emegen-C) + 2 tablespoons ACV + splash fresh lemon juice. I’ve also been adding in a few drop of dandelion bitters if I’ve had a few bevvies the night before 😉 ACV health claims include helping with managing blood sugars (helpful in keeping insulin stable) and managing diabetes, weight loss by promoting satiety, reduce belly fat, protective effects against cancer, lower cholesterol levels, heart health, and increased energy. Some of these claims are backed up by scientific studies some are not. It’s definitely not the best tasting thing in the world so I drink it as fast as I can…no sipping 😉
Heather- can you link some of the layering necklaces you wear everyday?
I have a few staples that I rotate in and out on a daily basis! I typically always wear my initials necklace for my kids and while it’s a bit on the pricier side, I think it makes a really great push present or Christmas present from your spouse. I love this mama necklace and this nameplate as well. I also always layer in my Gorjana pieces: this | this | this. Lastly, this is one of my cross necklace‘s from Vici Collection!
What is your favorite brand of almond milk (or coconut milk) to put in your coffee at home?
MALK and Three Trees are my favorite. I’ve also been getting almond milk from Trader Joe’s when I’m there that is just almonds and water (no other additives) and is pretty good and affordable. I will also sometimes get this Califia Farms one for smoothies.
Are the Nike Air Max 270’s comfortable? I’ve heard mixed reviews!
Here’s the thing.. these are NOT a workout shoe so don’t ever try and go for a run in these. Bloggers saying you can walk, stair master, etc in these are big fat liars in my opinion lol. These are an athleisure sneaker made for running errands or traveling. I wouldn’t necessarily wear these for a full day at Disneyland and would opt for a walking shoe but the Air Max’s don’t give me blisters or pinch my toes or make a weird sound when I walk like some reviews I’ve seen. I am able to wear them without socks for a full day of running around with my kids and have no issue! I am an 8.5 and got the 8.5.. TTS for me even though some people say they run big. Alix is a 9 and got the 9 and they fit her perfectly. If you’re interested in them, either order your true size and one half size down or try them on in store!
Have you heard of oil of oregano and do you think it helps when you’re coming down with a cold?
I bought this oil of oregano because it has been touted as a miracle worker for a cold. I was super run down last week and got sick, so I started to take it for the first time. Honestly it’s hard to tell if it helped…my cold is still lingering. I will definitely keep using it and it can’t hurt, so why not? There is some research to back up claims that oil of oregano has antimicrobial, antiviral and antifungal properties. It’s relatively inexpensive, so I think it’s worth a shot to have it on hand when a cold strikes.
I need a one piece for an upcoming vacation but I don’t want it to be frumpy. Something that sucks it all in but still has coverage but not like a “mom” bathing suit you know?! Help!!
I know the struggle my friend! I just purchased these suits for my upcoming trips!
We’ll be in San Diego for Spring Break and need tips based on Heather’s recent visit! What to do, where to stay, where to eat etc.!
I was on Coronado for only two nights and while I am from Southern California, I haven’t spent a ton of time in San Diego so not sure I am the best person to ask but here is what we did! We stayed at the Marriott property on Coronado and it’s very kid and family friendly.. we truly loved it! If you’re on the island, you must go visit the Hotel Del because it’s a landmark and famous and all the things.. so gorgeous. If you have the kids with you, a fun activity is going to the tide pools.. visit this site for an inside scoop.
If you’re closer to La Jolla, I asked my girlfriend who lives down there the best places to eat and shop. She sent me an entire guide to La Jolla (Thanks, Joo!!) so I am thinking of dedicating a whole post to it on Monday! It’s like the complete list of everything you need to eat and do in La Jolla!
