My blow dryer just died and I’m wondering if you have any recommendations on a good, but affordable hair dryer?
Alix has used the T3 for years (currently on sale) and loves it.. she has a lot more hair than me (Heather) so using a higher end blow dryer has been beneficial for her and gets her hair dry faster. I, on the other hand, just use the Revlon one from Target because my hair dries fast due to how thin it is! People are obsessed with the Dyson blow dryer but for $400 it better dry, style, and serve me cocktails in bed.
I just started running and looking for a black puffer vest to wear on my runs to keep my core warm. Can you link a few good options please?
We love this Patagonia down vest and this version as well! The North Face option has a fuzzy inside for extra comfy cozies!
My daughter is 2.5 and still uses the paci at night and sleeps in a sleep sack…I’m wondering when I should wean her off of these?
Quinn was OBSESSED with her paci and at around 2.5 we had been trying to wean her (unsuccessfully) off and she got hand, foot and mouth over Christmas break. She was able to hear the doctor say “no more pacis” (mostly because it would only irritate her face more) but it ended up being the perfect time to just ditch it. Around this time, she had a big sleep regression and it’s hard to know if it was the HFM, no pacis at bed, or a combination of both. I’ve heard from a lot of people that they also had sleep regressions when they weaned off the paci at night, so be prepared for that and have a game plan to handle in case it happens.
People also have so many creative ways to talk to their kids about giving up the paci…I told Quinn that since the doctor said no more pacis we would gathers all her pacis…put them in a bag and we would give them to baby Parker (Heather’s youngest) since he was a baby and needed them.
I think the sleep sack weaning matters a lot less than the paci. If your kiddo is cozy and happy in the sleep sack- keep it! A lot of parents keep their kiddos in a sleep sack as long as possible so they don’t climb out of the crib. Sleep sack also signals to kiddos that it’s nap or bed time, so it’s part of their routine and helps them sleep. Don’t mess with this lol! Quinn just got over hers about 2 and we put a little blanket in her crib and dressed her in warm footed jammies at night to ensure she was warm enough.
Since I’m spending so much more time at home (and in my bed lol) I want to buy new bedding! Can you link sheets, duvet covers, etc. that you recommend?
Yes! I linked all of my favorites in my At Home Self Care Essential post on Monday but linked again below:
I’m looking for a new straw hat for spring/summer-can you link a few you like?
Brixton is my favorite straw hat for spring/summer. Favorites here:
What is the first thing you’re going to buy for spring/summer once we’re given the green light to come out of quarantine?!
It won’t be loungewear, I’ll tell you that much! I want to buy vacation looks because we will definitely be wanting to get on a plane to the tropics.. all the linen pants, one pieces, and cute cover ups!
I know you’ve talked about your love for Lululemon Align leggings but do you have any sports bra and/or workout top recommendations?
Heather: My favorite workout sports bra is this one by Athleta because it hits right above the belly button so it’s almost like you’re wearing a shirt haha.. if you’re smaller bust (A-C), you need this version. Unfortunately, I haven’t found a sports bra from Lulu that I love. But I do like pairing my high waisted leggings with their crop tanks most. I have this looser fitting one in multiple colors.
Alix: This is my favorite Lululemon sports bra for running and have also been wearing crop tank for spin classes on my Peloton. This new sports bra by Girlfriend Collective is also so cute and has the high neck for more coverage. This is my fave crop tank from Lululemon…I have it in a few colors and really want that new bright blue color!
I’m walking a lot more now and in need of new walking shoes. Can you link a few pairs that offer good support on long walks? Thanks!
The Nike Women’s Air Zoom Vomero 14 have a lot of cushion and are great for walks and I also love my Nike Pegasus (obsessed with the hot pink!) which are a great versatile shoe. The Adidas Swift Run also has good cushioning and a good price point. If you want to splurge the Adidas UltraBoost are so so comfortable!
I’m on the hunt for new black sunglasses….I just realized I only have brown/tortoise colored sunglasses and would love a new black pair.
! I love my black Quay glasses and these DIFF glasses are so cute. You can never go wrong with black aviators!
My hands are drying out bad with the hand sanitizer and hand washing…is there something you recommend to help? I’m hating the dry sport are starting to hurt!
Ugh I feel ya! I keep hand lotion EVERYWHERE…in my purse, car, by the front door, etc. so I’m moisturizing after every hand wash and frequently throughout the day. I keep this SPF hand lotion by the the front door and love (gotta SPF your hands while driving or going out for walks!) and I like this hand cream that I keep in my purse. Look for fragrance free hand lotion because the fragrance can irritate sensitive skin. If you find yourself at Trader Joe’s I love their hand cream.
Washing with really hot water will irritate the skin more, so stick with warm water. Also remember to stay hydrated throughout the day…that will also help.
