Alix- what was the feedback you got on the whipped coffee? I want to try, but seems like a lot of work. Also can you link the recipe you used.
This is the recipe I used that a friend sent me and swears by. My first experience did not go well and here’s the feedback I got from Instagram friends:
-The Via from Starbucks doesn’t work
-Decaf and larger instant coffee grounds work better
-Hand mixer works best
-You have to mix for 6-10 minutes
-The maple syrup might not whip as well as regular sugar
-2 tablespoons instant coffee + 2 tablespoons hot water + tablespoons sugar
-Monk fruit sweetener froths better
-Real sugar works best, but it’s too sweet
-Kitchen-aid works well
-Handheld milk frother works best
I’ll try again! Seems like a lot of work for coffee, but I guess I’ve got time these days 😉
Have you guys seen any cute casual comfy summer dresses that are also easy to chase a toddler around?
Target and Amazon are our go-to’s in this case because we don’t like spending a lot on summer dresses since we only wear them one season and are over them by the time the next summer rolls around.
Love this one and this one (have it and love) and this one (want!)
I saw you post about yoga toes on your Instagram stories…what are the benefits? Worth buying?
I love my yoga toes and definitely think they are worth the purchase. I wear them for about 10-20 minutes at night before bed while I’m reading or watching a show. They are primarily good for people with foot conditions like bunions, hammer toes, plantar fasciitis, or chronic foot pain. I don’t really have any of those conditions, but since being in PT for my knee I’ve learned how important foot health is on how the rest of my body functions and help relive some of my knee pain. Yoga Toes are designed to help stretch, spread, and exercise the toes to help realign foot structure, strengthen feet, and help prevent or correct common foot problems as I listed above. Personally I love the toe stretch (I think it feels really good) and it also makes your feet look prettier 😉
I want to organize my bathroom. How do you clean your makeup brushes and organize your makeup and products?
This lazy susan is a great way to organize products under your sink or in a cabinet. This countertop makeup organizer and this makeup brush holder would look pretty and keep your makeup organized.
Heather organizes her makeup with an organizer like this. This is a great brush cleaner along with this scrubbing pad you put in your sink.. everyone needs one of these!
I’m looking for a new tinted sunscreen…what do you girls recommend?
We both love the Drunk Elephant tinted sunscreen…it gives a little coverage + 30 SPF protection. IT Cosmetics has a great CC+ cream that will give you a little more coverage than the Drunk Elephant and 50 SPF coverage. I’m obsessed with this Charlotte Tilbury tinted moisturizer (no SPF though) and will wear the Drunk Elephant sunscreen underneath.
I want to get a new pair of jean shorts now that the weather is getting warmer- can you link some recommendations under $100?
My all time favorite jean shorts are by AGOLDE but not under the $100 price point (but honestly worth the extra $28!!!). If I had to pick my next favorite it would be Levis: these | these
I’m starting to run outdoors more now and need new shorts. What are you favorite running shorts?
The Tracker Short V are my absolute favorite. I have them in 2 colors and ran my half marathon in them last year. I also really like and have a few pairs of the Speed Up Short. I also like running in the align shorts 6 inch they don’t ride on me as the 4 inch are a little short and ride up. We also love the hotty hot short 4″, not too short and breezy! We each size UP one size in these.
Heather- what were some of the PT exercises you mentioned in your post that you were taught to do with Cammy to help him gain strength and confidence to walk?
When the PT came, she would move the table closer to the couch and make him try and walk in between without going down to his hands and knees to transfer (aka cruising furniture). We also wanted him to practice shifting weight between his two legs to gain strength so she’d put something he desired in her left hand and make him reach for it and then move it to her right hand to make him shift and walk a little. Next, we’d put a little step stool with multiple steps on it to encourage him to get up and climb it or walk around it. Lastly, we put magnets on the fridge but at a higher level to make him stand up to the fridge and reach for them.
At the end of the day, I think it’s confidence over ability that we were working on. He was absolutely strong enough to walk and had the core strength but he lacked confidence in himself. Working with him a little each day and showing him how able he was helped boost his confidence and one day, he just stood up and walked without looking back and I am sure Parker is a little less than 30 days away from the doing the same 🙂
During quarantine I’ve been trying to do intermittent fasting and have been trying to not break my fast until 10am. Is putting cream or almond milk in my coffee OK?
I’m not an expert in IF, but have been doing more and more research on this topic and continue to be surprised and intrigued by the health benefits (and research to back it up) of IF. I think this article does a great job explaining what breaks a fast according to different IF experts. There are a few different styles of IF and opinions of what breaks a fast. This is also a new podcast episode on IF that I plan to listen to this week. I also believe Dr. Will Cole to be an expert on this topic and he’s written a lot of great articles on IF like this or this one. His website can be a good resource you so as well.
