I need some cute workout shoes but with some support, my arches are hurting a little and I walk so much. Help!
I’ve gone through my fair share of workout shoes and have come up with the ones that truly support me and are comfortable to wear long after I’m done in the gym. And here’s what I’ve concluded… Adidas may be the cutest on the market, but Nike’s are the most supportive and versatile. I can’t really workout in my Adidas. I wear those when I want to look cute or when I want to look like I’ve worked out but actually haven’t and I’m running errands lol (my faves here and here). My Nikes take me from the gym to the grocery store without any issue. But you need to get ones with a slight platform for support. These are great for running (and hello, they’re rose gold and white STUNNERS) and not kidding feel like you’re walking on clouds. These aren’t necessarily running shoes but great for long distance walks/support. Lastly, these all white running shoes are designed for running but versatile enough to wear all day long.
My good friend’s birthday is next month and I want to get her something cute/special and maybe personalized? Any thoughts?
Love the idea of a personalized gift because that’s something I myself enjoy getting as a present and it’s thoughtful. I have a few suggestions. I received this clutch from Gigi New York and use it as my travel make up bag AND as a clutch for evenings out. It’s personalized with my initials and I get compliments on it every time I wear it. Love all of the colors but you can’t go wrong with black or nude. I have the largest version but this size and this size are equally cute depending on how much you want to spend. Another great idea is the St. Anne Travel Tote from Barrington that you can completely personalize from the inside out plus initials. My favorite combo is the Spring Leather Patch in dark grey geometric pattern with dark brown trim. It looks like a Goyard bag for a fraction of the cost. And my last gift suggestion is always a robe because you can wear it all year round.. at least I do. If you go this route, just do everyone a favor and splurge on a Barefoot Dreams because it will last FORVER. I have the short and long version in grey and cream.. and I rotate them equally.
I need more ideas to change up my smoothie game…are you liking the Daily Harvest smoothies?
I just got my second delivery and I’m really into them. The first order I got 6 different smoothies to try them all and now I’m modifying my orders to get the ones I like best. I’m only getting deliveries every 4-6 weeks (you can skip as many weeks in-between deliveries as you want)… It’s really nice to have different flavor combinations I wouldn’t normally whip up at home and it is super easy to take on the go. Typically to make a meal replacement I have to add extra protein, fiber, and fat…see this smoothie post for ideas. You can use this code to get 3 free cups 🙂
I’m on the hunt for the perfect pair of jean shorts for summer. Any recs?
I (Heather) have recently updated my jean shorts drawer and I’m so happy with what I’ve purchased.. so I guess I’ll share 😉 I’m obsessed with One Teaspoon and Agolde and have this pair, this pair and this pair. One Teaspoon is known to ride HIIIIIGH so don’t be shy to rock some booty in them. But if that’s not your jam, go for the Agolde paid (seriously worth the price in my opinion). They look frumpy on the model (my bone to pick with Nordstrom) but in person, they’re SO cute. If you need a couple more budget friendly, Madewell and Levi’s will never steer you wrong.
Alix popping in here and I just bought these Free People and I’m obsessed! They are a lot like the One Teaspoon ones, but cheaper! I also live in these Levi’s in the summer…now if only the sun would come out in Seattle so I can wear them!
If you can’t avoid fast food (because your kids want to play in the damn ball pit), what’s the safest thing to order besides black coffee?
Lol! Well…best option is to bring something from home if you have the time to plan ahead. Hopefully you’ve been following along with my recs and have started to keep snacks in your car for emergencies and this just might be one 😉 Bring a bar or trail mix to hold you over. Now if that is not an option and you are needing to order something they usually have the nutrition facts accessible either in store or online which may help steer you in a safer direction. Salads are typically thought of as a “healthy” choice, but the dressing are often no bueno…so usually skip or ask for dressing on the side. Be aware of any saucesssss and ask for on the side or dry. Items that you think might be a good pick like oatmeal or a yogurt parfait from McDonald’s (for example) have a ton of sugar (oatmeal 33 grams and yogurt 22 grams).
At most places you can get a side salad and a chicken (grilled not “crispy”) or burger patty for a protein topper. Another idea is to get a dry burger and eat it open faced with lots of lettuce and tomato. Lastly, you can always opt for a kids meal…smaller portions and won’t be the end of the world…just get a diet coke to go with it…kidding 😉
With summer right around the corner, I “need” a new swimsuit to rock at the pool. Have you seen any good ones lately?
Oh girl, the things we “need”… such a long list lol. And yes, so many good suits out there right now. Check out this off the shoulder ASOS bikini in rose.. does it seriously not look designer?! I’ve always loved this L Space off the shoulder from Nordys. The scallop trend is here to stay and for good reason.. so flattering on all body types. And if you’re looking for something with a bit more coverage but still sexaaaay, this nude number is HOT (although a bit pricey) and a less expensive version here by Leith and here by Billabong (hi blast from the past).
My husband and I just bought a house and are slowly furnishing it room by room but we’re starting with the master. I really want brand new, beautiful and comfortable bedding.. where would you suggest I start?
Congrats.. what an exciting new adventure but definitely know how overwhelming it can be! Bedding is so important because you want comfort while maintaining the style of the room. In the winter months, I use Target’s jersey sheets and stole this idea from my girlfriend, Liz. When I stayed at her house, I couldn’t believe how soft the sheets were and to my surprise, she said they were from Target. SCORE. In summer, I just get a cotton version from Target as well. I buy all of my white down comforters from Nordstrom Home. They can stand the test of time and are uber soft. For styling, check out Pottery Barn or West Elm. But to be honest, I find so many of my guest bedroom comforters from Home Goods or TJ Maxx and they’re equally as fab for much cheaper.
I’m newly pregnant and don’t want to spend a ton of maternity clothes but definitely want to invest in a good pair of black leggings. Do you remember the ones you used during your pregnancies and were they worth the price?
I have a few pairs of black leggings that were tried and true my entire pregnancy and worth the investment. These Spanx suck everything in and give so much support especially in those later months. This pair of Splendid’s are so soft and I still wear them to this day. I was all about comfort in my pregnancies and these can be worn to work or to bed lol. Lastly, I was gifted these Belly Bandits for after pregnancy but wore them during as well.. meant to suck everything in like the Spanx.
