Alix- any protein powder recommendations? I followed F-Factor diet and used their high fiber protein powder for a while and now I’m so skeptical of it given all the controversy around it. Thank you!
Personally, I use Vital Proteins collagen peptides or this one if you want a good whey protein, Tone it Up, or Garden of Life in my smoothies. Kelly LeVeque recently launched her own protein powder that looks amazing and I want to try.
What are the denim fall trends you’re seeing? Flare? Ripped? Skinny? Cropped?
We are seeing a lot of oversized/loose jeans for fall but be careful.. this trend can swallow you up. Also, we think it looks best on really tall/thin figures so unless you’re Gisele, maybe stay away lol. If you’re Gisele, these are really cute. Heather tried them but they just don’t work with my body. We are also seeing a ton of ripped and cropped jeans and can get on board with it. These white ones are so cute and we have no problem wearing white after Labor Day. MOTHER denim is a splurge but worth it. Lastly, Good American skinny jeans look good on just about every body.
Have either of you ever tried dermaplaning and if so, what are your thoughts?
Yes, we have but would only recommend getting it done professionally. I have used the Tinkle razors from Amazon and find that I break out when I do it myself. If you do it yourself, sanitize the razors after use or use a new one each time. Secondly, watch YouTube videos of others doing it.. only shave from the cheek down and be careful at your hairline. We love getting all of the peach fuzz off our face as makeup goes on so much smoother when it’s gone! And you don’t realize how much peach fuzz you have until you do it. Would definitely recommend but again, we let our aestheticians do it for us during a facial. Lastly, it’s not good for people with oily skin and can cause breakouts, so talk to your estheticians first 😉
Where is the influencer challenge?! Do it! Thanks 😉
LOL! For those of you who are unfamiliar, the influencer challenge is when a blogger pretends to be recording themselves but is really recording their husband and saying crazy things that they don’t actually do. For example, my husband is usually up first, works out, makes the kids breakfast, etc. And I would record being like, “Some of you have asked about my morning routine. I’m usually up before the kids for a workout and let my husband sleep in, etc” just to see what their reaction is. I really want to do this with Britt but I feel like he’d know right away that it was a joke. I have to practice my pranking skills and be convincing. I’ll try and do it soon 😉
Can you link your favorite Amazon workout purchases again?
All of our favorite “saves” are in this post but will also link below!
Alix- how was your flying experience to CA? I’m flying down there soon and curious how your experience was and what I should expect.
It was really easy. Quinn and I flew down to see my family that I haven’t seen since last November. I got a COVID test before leaving because I was going to see my dad and wanted to be as safe as possible. The test is horrible IMO! Quinn and I obviously wore our masks the whole time and washed and sanitized our hands frequently. We are TSA pre-check so the security line was fast and easy. We grabbed a quick coffee (and hot chocolate for Q) and waited in a corner away from everyone and watched the planes. We had a row to ourselves and there seemed to be good spacing around us as well. I disinfected everything we would touch ASAP. I felt totally safe flying.
I want to make some health changes as we head into fall…what would be your top 3 tips to “get healthier” ?
Obviously this can be different for everyone, but areas to focus on are steps/non exercise activity, decreasing added sugars, and drinking enough water. Track how many steps you get on an average day and try to increase that number until you’re averaging 10-15k a day. Exercising 30-60 minutes during the day then being sedentary the rest of the day is not ideal. Find ways to move throughout the day. For added sugars check out my post here. Lastly, drinking enough water is essential for so many processes in the body and can also help regulate accurate hunger cues. This can help you decrease the mindless munchies. I try and drink 80-100oz/day.
I’m on the hunt for a few new workout tanks. What are you favorites from Lululemon?
Here are my faves:
