Do you feel like the Bala ankle weights add a lot more to your workout?
The ankle weights add a sneaky good burn when we take Melissa Wood Health yoga/pilates classes. I’ve done the classes with and without the 1lb weights and can say it adds a significant burn and enhances the workout. I tried using me 3lb barre weights in the beginning, but those get too heavy for her workouts. Here is another less $$ option and the weights are adjustable.

Alix- were you nervous to go back into a workout studio?
Honestly, no. I have actually really enjoyed working out at home and can do a lot of the activities like HIIT, spin, weight training, and gentle pilates/yoga at home, but have really been missing a few of my favorite studios. The small business owners of these workout studios have taken a huge hit the past 6 months and since I’m so passionate about exercise I really want to support them. I took a yoga class and there were only a handful of people taking the class and spread out in designated areas throughout the studio space. There were not any props or hands on adjustments and you wore your mask the entire time you were in the studio, but could take off once on your mat. I honestly felt safer at the yoga class than I do at Target 😉
What are best travel mugs that don’t leak? I’m taking my coffee on the go more now that I’m dropping the kids off at school.
We love our Yeti mugs! This style is our favorites, but doesn’t fit in the car drink holder, but this tumbler does! My husband uses this one and it fits in his car as well.
Favorite shows you’re binge watching right now?
My husband and I just finished season 3 of Yellowstone and are freaking out. Can’t wait for season 4 and I just ordered this hat lol. We are now going to start the new season of Billions. We binged on Ozarc during quarantine and were obsessed, so if you haven’t watch that yet- do it! Also catch up on Dead to Me on Netflix if you haven’t. I’ve heard Away on Netflix is also good. I’m so glad I binged Schitt’s Creek and might rewatch. I don’t have any solo shows I love right now, so might start Selling Sunset on Netflix. That’s all I’ve got, so if you have any recs drop them in the comments!
Reusable lunch bags for packing snack for kids lunch and good kid snack ideas?
Stasher bags are the best IMO…these patterns are so cute! I also have these ones from Target and like them- no leaking. You can also use food container like these which are nice because the snacks don’t get smashed!
For Quinn’s snacks I like to pair a protein + fruit/veggie/cracker. For example, I’ve been packing cheese stick + apple slices, yogurt + homemade muffin, Z Bar + strawberries, goldfish crackers + yogurt, cashews + pretzel sticks, etc.
Have you bought any new fall decor this year?
I ordered a few things recently off Etsy. I got these bats (inspired by Somewhere lately) this buffalo check door mat with this door mat to layer over it. We are both obsessed with this Leaves candle and both got a new one for the season. These lanterns are adorable, this wreath is pretty, these glass mugs are so fun, and love this chunky knit throw blanket to cozy up the living room.
I want some clear mugs for coffee and tea…are are your favorite?
We love these ones with handles or these without handles! These ones have a heart shape..so cute!
How are you transitioning summer pieces into fall?
I’ve been wearing these tanks (and these) with jean shorts or bike shorts on repeat because it’s still really hot in Seattle. The mornings are cooler so I’ve been throwing on a flannel (linked in question #1), or jean jacket. Then I’m starting to wear more sneakers instead of sandals to transition into cooler temps.
