Alix I saw your stories about Vital Proteins…what are your thoughts on the Vital Proteins Beauty Collagen?
I think Vital Proteins is an awesome clean source of collagen protein. I’ve only tried their beauty collagen once and it was super clumpy, so I gave up. I’m sure I did something wrong with how I mixed it in, but it seemed too complicated for me and I have just always stuck with the OG unflavored for smoothies.
I need a large candle for a table and tray in my living room. I had one from Target last year but can’t find it now!
Love an oversized candle.. my girlfriend just gifted me this one from Anthro (size Large) as a housewarming gift (Hi Anna!) and it is INSANELY gorgeous and puts off the best smell in my kitchen. But also love these budget friendly ones from Target: one (most similar to the Anthro one) | two
Alix- can you tell us more about your part time job you do once a week at the college? Would you ever be interested in taking on additional clients outside of that to help with nutrition and weight loss?
I’ve been working at a local college for almost 4 years now one day a week. I work in the counseling, health and wellness center with the medical and psychology team to provide nutrition counseling for students.
When Quinn was younger this was the perfect position for me to keep my foot in the door professionally. Now that she’s in school more I am getting the itch to do more. In 2021 I plan to finally follow through with becoming a certified personal trainer and hope to start seeing clients for nutrition and training!
Heather can you link your leggings from Monday’s post. Love the color for fall!
Yes I got them at the Nordstrom sale this year.. here you go! They are the perfect fall color and so flattering.
Have either of you tried the Offline line from Aerie? Thoughts?
Heather: I have not and haven’t even heard of it?! Bad blogger award. I’ll look into it and let you know if I try!
Alix: I recently purchased these leggings because I was curious about the Offline collection and I’m obsessed with the quality of the leggings for the cost. I’m also eyeing this henley shirt and this long sleeve…both seem like a great layer for fall and winter.
Alix- what is your AM liquid lineup again? I know you recommend water before anything else. What are your thoughts on Liquid IV?
It honestly changes…just like everyone else I get on kicks then fall off lol! One thing that never changes though is I drink almost half of my hydroflask first thing upon waking (I fill my water bottle up every night before bed, so I start with a full water bottle in the morning) We wake up so dehydrated and this is a must for me before anything else. I’m on a thyroid medication I take first thing in the AM then I can’t have anything besides water for an hour after, so that’s thrown me off…I’m very ready for coffee by the time the hour is up! I’m doing one cup of regular coffee (usually Nespresso + oat milk or Four Sigmatic) a day then if I want more I’ll drink decaf.
I just started this liquid biocell (I’ll report back once I’ve been on it awhile) but I’m hoping it helps with my hair loss in the shower. If I’m being good I will drink celery juice and/or lemon, ginger, cayenne hot water before my coffee. I blended up fresh lemon, ginger, and cayenne and put into an ice cube tray. I’ll pop two cubes in hot water- so easy and good for you!
If I’ve taken a sweaty spin class I’ll pop one of these tablets into my water bottle.
I’ve backed off Liquid IV post workouts because of the added sugars. Liquid IV has 11 grams of added sugar…Emergen-C isn’t as bad with 5 grams added sugar. If I’m nursing a hangover I have Liquid IV I will still drink, but I don’t drink it on the daily. I think every once and awhile is fine, but I don’t think it’s necessary for daily use.
Go to fall jacket as we transition into Fall?
So many choices.. you can go with the oversized denim, a “shacket,” a trench, a leather jacket or a true puffy coat. All my faves below:
What trends are you seeing for fall?
So funny you ask.. my girlfriend and I were just chatting about this and her friend lives in Milan and gave her the scoop on what she’s seeing for fall: puffy sleeves, fringe (obviously this is a designer pick and nothing I’d ever be able to purchase but this is about the only way I can see fringe working), and oversized boyfriend jeans. I can get on board with most of these if they’re done right. There’s a difference between oversized jeans and boyfriend denim and putting them together can make you look like you’re wearing a paper bag. I think that trend is for supermodels, TBH. But we’ll see!
Do you own and wear combat boots a lot? I like them but wondering how realistic they are in Seattle! Also, I can’t pull off the super chunky ones so can you link some options for us petite girls?!
I just pulled the trigger on these beauties and can’t wait to pair with jeans and a flannel or legging and oversized tunic. I also love these, these and these. Honestly, I feel like even if you’re petite you can pull these looks off! I’d say pick something that hits more of the ankle than mid calf like these Vince Camutos!
Heather- I love all of your new lighting fixtures! I’m looking to update some in my house…could you please link yours?!
Thank you! I love how they all turned out. They’re all from Circa Lighting. Here is the formal living, dining room, and kitchen dining lantern!
