Can you believe it’s August already? What happened to summer? It’s basically winter. Merry Christmas.
Another round of beauty finds came QUICK and I’m going to do everything in my power to hang on to this little bit of sun I’ve got glowing on 😉 In order to achieve that, I’ll need the help of a few items I found below and what I used in this picture posted above.
MAC Nude Lip Trio: In my opinion, these colors will look good on any skin tone. I’ve used the lipsticks on their own, I’ve combined them, and I’ve used all three at once and each time, it creates the perfect nude lip. I typically like a nude lip with a tan so these have been on repeat the entire month of July.
Laura Mercier Illuminator Palette: Let’s just say my girlfriends get me. They got me this highlighter palette for my birthday and it creates such a beautiful dewy, glow.. something I’m always trying to achieve with my skincare and makeup routine. You can apply with your fingers or a flat brush to dry skin for a natural dew or over your foundation/powder and bronzer for additional glow. I’ve used all three colors (and again, combined them into one color) but the bronze is definitely great for summer, the middle and right colors are better for winter or highlighting under your eyes and the tip of the nose. I typically highlight my cheek bones, down the center of my nose, the peak of my lips and the inner corners of my eyes.
Cover FX Enhancer Drops: I may have shared this before but I came across these enhancer drops after watching Jaclyn Hill makeup tutorials on YouTube. I have two colors: Celestial and Sunlight and change them out depending upon how tan I am. But I definitely use more in summer than winter months. I use it by applying a drop or two into my foundation and mixing it together to create a shimmer/glow. It adds a bit of moisture but the overall goal is to create that sun kissed, dewy look.. so I’d say this is good for people with dry or combo skin but not oily.
T3 Curling Iron: I finally splurged on a quality curling iron after 32 years of fighting the urge. And it was worth it. I bought mine during the sale so got it for $100 instead of $160. This thing gets HOT.. so friggin hot that every time Jackson or Cameron come wandering into the bathroom, I’m on high alert! DON’T TOUCH! Anyways, because of the heat my hair is holding a curl much better (and I have SUPER fine hair.. and not a lot of it.. thanks pregnancy). And it creates loose waves.. no Shirley Temple curls over here. I believe this curling iron comes with other barrels you can attach but the standard size it came with works just fine for me.. I don’t feel the need to invest in additional barrel sizes. Also, it says it can adapt to universal plugs so for my travel abroad girls, you can bring it with you.
Drunk Elephant Lippe: Oh weird, a Drunk Elephant product! No surprise here.. I love their stuff. But surprisingly, I don’t own the entire line cuz I’m not rollin in dough. I recently bought their $18 lip balm, which for me is a little pricey BUT you can use it around your eyes for additional moisture.. so it’s a two in one product 😉 a BOGO! It’s marketed as a moisturizing and volumizing lip balm that helps nourish delicate lips for noticeably plump, youthful-looking lips. Ok, this is a bit of a stretch.. it’s not a magic potion. But I do like it and apply it throughout the day because I leave it in my purse for easy access.
That’s it for this month.. if you try any of these products, let me know your thoughts and what you think I need to add to the beauty collection. xx
