We are back in the swing of things and life has settled into a new normal.. and thank God it feels NORMAL. The boys are all in school 5 days a week and loving it. Jackson entered the 1st grade without a single friend and is now arranging play dates and after school hangs with his buddies. It makes my heart so happy to see. Cammy wants nothing more than to attend school with his big brother but is otherwise thriving in his pre-K program. And Mr. Parker is growing up to be a little boy so quickly. He still has his “I’m the youngest, give me whatever I want” moments but they are less frequent than before. He’ll always be the spoiled baby, though 😉
Our October is gearing up to be one of our busiest with school and a couple trips. Oh, and probably multiple pumpkin patch visits. So today I am sharing snaps of our September and all the fun we had as we soaked in the last few weeks of sunshine and summer.
We went to Walla Walla with a group of our friends (sans kids and it showed); it’s an annual trip I hope never fades away. This group of friends is truly unique.. a bunch of degenerates who fortunately (or unfortunately, however you want to look at it) found each other lol.
Are you even wine tasting if you didn’t wear a wide brim hat?! Mine is by Lack of Color but I own and love a few Janessa Leone hats that my girlfriends traded off wearing. My sunnies are old Celine’s but these affordable dupes are EVERYTHING.
Last weekend we had our final 80 degree day so we took the boat out and cruised Lake Washington, tubed, and sipped on aperol spritz’s. Only picture from the day:
On Sunday’s we root for our Seahawks.. rain or shine, win or lose 😉 Luckily we had a win yesterday!
On Friday’s I pull Cammy out of school early and take him to his speech therapy appointment. He has 1:1 play sessions to work on his L’s, R’s and Th’s. He’s already making significant progress and he’s working so hard. Some say, “It’s so normal not to be able to pronounce those sounds!” Yes, you are correct. But at the age of almost 5, his peers and adults should be able to understand 100% of what he says. He’s at 80%. He is also self-conscious and has been teased for the way he talks. Early intervention is critical and while I love the way he talks, I also don’t want him being made fun or bullied on the playground cuz guess what, kids are mean.
Alix and I try to meet up at least once a week to walk, get lunch, take pictures, brainstorm the blog and catch up. Last week it was Nordstrom Cafe + a side of champagne.
And then just like that, FALL HIT HARD with the rain and 60 degree days. I’m ready for it. BRING IT.
After all the fun we had in September, I am ready for the Rocktober Challenge to start today! Alix will be sharing more on stories and also check out her post from last week. Time to get those steps in.
Have a great week! xx, heather
