Today is a photo dump of the past few weeks and all the fun that fall brings. We’ve settled into the beginning of the school year, the kids are the busiest they’ve ever been and we’re just getting started with all the activities that the season brings.. which is my favorite time of year.
I went to LMU and we didn’t have a football team so when I get the chance to tailgate (in this case sailgate) I go all out and look the part 😉 Most of my girlfriends here went to UW so it’s fun to root on the huskies with them. Spent the day on the water sans kids and had the best time sipping champs and laughing with these girl and our husbands.
Jackson and Cam both play soccer and love it. It’s especially fun watching the 2nd grade boys though because they’re so good. They actually know how to play lol and I don’t know how I’ll watch them play as they get even older because I think they get their competitiveness from me 😉 I lose my voice every Saturday.. but I try to keep it chill so they know that it’s just for fun (even though I keep score). Jackson didn’t love soccer in years past but this year he is playing kids in his class and he has gained so much confidence in the sport. We’ll see what path he follows in the future because he’s going to have to make some choices when it comes to what he wants to play but for now, watching him on the soccer field brings me so much joy. And he’s a fast little stud.
Cammy is in Kindergarten and just the cutest little dude. I took the boys mini golfing last weekend and Cam got his first hole in 1 that had to be documented 🙂 He has a freakish natural ability at everything and it drives his older brother crazy (who works so hard when Cam doesn’t try at all lol).
Oh Parker the biggest gremlin there is. He is independent and ballsy AF. Oh and tells me how it is. Luckily he is being a good listener at school this year and I haven’t had to have any meetings about him.. yet.
Jackson plays flag football on Sunday’s (Cammy subs in at times, too) and I think it’s his favorite sport at the moment. My husband, of course, wants them to play tackle when they’re a bit older but I’m hoping baseball, soccer, golf or basketball (ANYTHING) gets picked over that.
I am serving as room parent for both Cam and Jackson’s classrooms and I love it so much. I am at their school and in their classrooms with the students and teachers every week.. I love seeing them in action, getting to know the kids and staff and other moms. With covid, I was missing that connection and finally feel like life is back to normal. And being in the halls at school and talking with other parents and teachers is the human interaction I’ve been lacking.
I volunteer in the classrooms each week for a few hours and Parker had to tag along that first week. He got to act like a big kid for the day 🙂 Oh and spilled that goldfish packet all over the floor then walked away. Surprised he didn’t throw up a middle finger on his way out.
When I’m at home, it’s this. Cozy. Sweats. Slippers.
Britt’s work and travel schedule is wild right now so I am not cooking as much as I normally would but when I do, this buddha bowl is always on my weekly menu because we both love it and it’s easy and healthy.
Now some outfits over the past couple weeks:
Next up: pumpkin patches, field trips with school, more soccer, flag football, Halloween, family visits, and then basketball season. Basically, Merry Christmas.
