London Lately - HEATHER + ALIX

We are back from a whirlwind summer of travel and I can’t wait to get back into routine, creating content, and my normal everyday life with the boys and all their activities. The past couple of months have been so special and while traveling with three little boys is not for the faint of heart, it was honestly magical and something I’ll cherish for the rest of the my life.

Overall, the boys were rockstar travelers and even when I forced them to do things they didn’t want to do (like walk the gardens at Buckingham Palace), they eventually realized how cool it was and how lucky they were to be experiencing it. Today, I’m sharing a photo dump of our vacation and some outfits I packed. I rarely got any solo shots because we were always on the go and it wasn’t a priority to stop for glamour shots lol but I’ll link what I packed in case anyone has future travel plans to the UK or Europe.

The kids were champs and each slept on the flight to and from London. Parker was the whole vibe.

We arrived in the Cotswolds after getting a rental car in London and the boys were ready to hit the ground running. We stayed in Broadway, which is about 2 hours outside of London. It was full of shops, cafes, antique stores, pubs, and quaint specialty stores.

This was our house for the week that my cousin and his wife rented out. It’s called Pye Corner House and can be found on Instagram, too. It was charming and just overall a spectacular property that housed a large number of us.

We went to the Broadway Tower to get a 360 Birds Eye view of the entire English countryside

The pool at Pye Corner House was heated so the kids went in daily.. and so did the dads 🙂 Our weather was low 70’s, which was perfect for us. It felt like home to be honest. And when the sun came out, it was scorching so we truly loved the intermittent cloud coverage

Every single house in the Cotswolds is just filled with charm and history

We were lucky enough to have a private chef come and cook us breakfast, lunch and dinner and she was out of this world talented. This was one lunch spread of Mediterranean deliciousness. All of the sauces were made from scratch.

All of the herbs were from the garden at the house and her homemade sauces for each meal were to die for. We begged her to come home with us.

Britt taught the boys croquet in the backyard where they also threw a football around and had a full playground for the kids

Living out my Holiday dream in the Cotswolds. It’s exactly how you’d imagine it to be.

We were walkable to all of the restaurants and shops so one day we snuck out with just Parker to get a drink and him a burger and chips 😉

One day, we got a large family bus that took us to a local farm where we roamed with the sheep and cows, had tea and cake with the farmer, and then hit up a local pub for lunch. The boys loved it.

Then it was time to get back in the car and head to London for a few days

It just so happened that two of my college friends were in London with their two boys at the same time so we couldn’t miss that opportunity to get together for rooftop drinks while the boys played. It was so good for the soul to catch up with old friends who are in the exact same stage of life as you.

After approximately 25 Aperol spritz’s, we all walked to Harrods for some browsing and ended up in a basement pub for fish and chips

First full day of exploring London with the boys

For our first day, we did the hop on/hop off bus so we could show the boys the entire city from a double decker bus. Had to stop by Westminster Abbey, which is breathtakingly beautiful

Big Ben.. the boys were fascinated by its history. We ended up doing a Thames River Cruise to get an even better view from the water.

I popped into Mango because I was running low on clothes and it was chillier at night than I anticipated so I got some new jeans and this cutie blazer. The women in London have the best, effortless style that I was trying to emulate.

We stayed at the Grand Hotel London Bellevue (a boutique Hyatt property) and the lobby bar was my favorite part. The vibes were a 10. The rooms feel very New York City and so we had two rooms, otherwise we would have been on top of each other

Sunday Roast was one of my favorite meals with the boys.. they embraced everything we threw at them, including the food

Experienced the London Eye for the first time.. a highlight for the boys.. scary for me when it stopped at the top like WHY ARE YOU STOPPING keep it moving

Second day of exploring for Buckingham Palace and more sightseeing

We did the following activities in London: Changing of the Guard, Thames River Cruise, London Dungeon, London Eye, Buckingham Palace State Rooms, Hop On/Hop Off Bus and then traveled to all of our other destinations on the underground

The city is so easy to get around even for families. We walked at least 15K steps a day but the tube was legit to get to our destinations and Paddington station was right around the corner from our hotel, which was the most convenient

After a long day of walking and exploring, happy hour in the lobby bar for an espresso martini was necessary

Every night we’d walk to a different neighborhood pub for dinner and it was my favorite part of the day walking the streets of London and popping into charming spots like The Swan next to Hyde Park

Indulged in all the full fat milk lattes this trip and had no regrets

We ended up at Bondi Green for brunch on our last day and it was one of our favorite meals of the trip. Smashed avocado toast of my dreams.

The boys had blueberry pancakes… I mean OKKKKKKKK

After brunch, we walked all of Kensington Gardens and the boys threw a football around for 2 hours to get some energy out before the long flight home.
