Urban Decay Chill Makeup Setting Spray: For some reason this only let me link you to Nordstrom Rack, which is great because it’s on sale, but Sephora also carries it. This is some effective setting spray and I discovered it after watching Jaclyn Hill makeup tutorials for like 2 hours one day. Don’t judge. Anyways, if you want your makeup to last ALL day or night for an event, spray this after applying your makeup. But don’t do it right after you apply mascara… let that sh*t dry and then spray. Oh, and then don’t move a muscle for 30 seconds and stare straight ahead so it sets and your makeup doesn’t move.
Kat Von D Shade Light Contour Kit: I have a few contour kits but I come back to this one again and again, especially for the lighter shades for setting my under eye concealer. There’s a light, medium and dark shade for both setting powder and bronzer and I just find that whatever season I’m in, this contour kit has you covered (meaning you’re pale in winter and tan in summer). Super versatile and just overall really pretty and pigmented colors.
Laura Mercier Invisible Loose Setting Powder: When I do my makeup, I use concealer and always go over it with setting powder (either with the Kat Von D as mentioned above or this invisible version). I use this setting powder more in the Spring and Summer months when I don’t need as much cover up and just want to set a light concealer under my eyes. I discovered this product by watching those same YouTube tutorials and I’m hooked (to the powder AND the videos lol).
NYX Lip Pencil in color Mauve: I mean, it’s $4 and the only lip pencil I find myself using day to day because it’s the perfect color (and the one I’m wearing in the picture above). I don’t just line my lips, I fill them in entirely with this lip pencil and wear it as a lipstick and then just go over it with a gloss or chapstick.
MAC Nude Lipstick in Blankety and Velvet Teddy: My go to shades for a nude lip when I actually wear a full face of makeup. I’ve always been a MAC fan, especially their lip colors, and these are my fave colors.
NYX Butter Gloss in Creme Brûlée and Angel Food Cake: Or basically ANY shade of nude/pink.. I’m obsessed. I keep these in my makeup case and in every purse I own. I wear them by themselves or over my MAC lipstick.
Trish McEvoy Highlight Stick: This came in a kit I purchased over the holidays and it’s so easy to apply.. and I kind of put it all over my face because I’m all about that glow. I use a brush to apply but I seriously think you could just take this straight to the face and you’d be fine.. it’s subtle but gives you that sun kissed “just came from the beach” look.
Trish McEvoy Instant Eye Lift: This is another product I received in a kit and wasn’t entirely sure how to use it at first. Some days I really don’t need full coverage concealer but still want a brightening effect under my eyes. This is the answer.
MAC Eyeshadow in Amber Lights: I don’t wear a ton of eye makeup on the daily but when I do, I’ve been using this eyeshadow, which has a bit of shimmer to it. I have blue/green eyes and it really makes them pop. Definitely recommend for my girls with blue, green or hazel eyes.
Loreal Telescopic Mascara: When it comes to drugstore mascaras, I’ve always had really good luck but this Loreal version is my new favorite. I get it in black and it rivals my designer brands. I actually think I threw away my Dior Show mascara because this one is 10x better (and it was all dried up and gross). Oh and this one is $10.
Mario Badescu Vitamin C Serum: Name the one beauty product that if you ran out of right now, you’d be devastated. For me, it was my Skinceuticals Vitamin CE serum.. maybe because it was $160. But enter Mario’s version for $45.. it doesn’t have the E like Skinceuticals but whatever, C is all the rage these days. It has replaced my magic in a bottle and gets the job done. I apply every morning after I wash my face and it leaves a little glow all day.
Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer: I’ve never been one to wear full coverage foundation and if I do, it’s because I’m going to an event and need my makeup to last 4+ hours. But for everyday and even nights out, I wear this tinted moisturizer with SPF. It gives me enough coverage, is light and the SPF factor is a win/win. Try it out if you’re in Sephora or Nordstrom.. super creamy application.
Hopefully you’ll like this new edition to the blog each month and if there are any products you’ve recently discovered that you think I should try, send them my way! xo
