Melissa Wood Health Workouts + Bala Bangles
These workouts have been saving me during the stay at home order. It really balances out my Peloton workouts. She has a ton of different videos…targeting different areas or full body and all different class times. It’s nice to combine 2-3 videos and create your perfect workout. I tried the week for free and signed up after. Her voice is SOO soothing and I hope to try one of her mediation classes soon one night before bed.
I got the 1lb Bala Bangles for the arm and leg workouts and it adds the perfect extra burn. I used my own body weight for a while until the weight showed up and that still burned plenty. These weights help you get a little more bang for your buck during your workout and they are also SO cute! I got the white ones 😉
Since I haven’t been able to get in to see my massage therapist during the stay at home order my body was hurting. I asked for a massage gun for Mother’s Day and this gun did not disappoint. At night while watching TV I’ll get into my quads, IT band, glutes, and there are even special attachments for feet/arches…feels SO good! My husband did a lot of research and this gun got great reviews on Amazon and great price point. I love that it has 30 speeds and a bunch of different attachments for different body parts (it comes with a booklet to explain it all).
I can’t stop with my obsession for my fanny pack! I walk a lot and with warmer temps I’m not wearing a jacket and don’t have anywhere to hold my things esp. if I don’t have the stroller. Also with Covid it’s discouraged to bring bags/purses inside stores and into appointments, so the fanny is great because it’s on you and you’re not setting down a bag. It fits my phone, keys, card holder, lip balm, and face mask…boom!
Other cute fanny packs: one | two | three | four | five |
Supergoop Invincible Setting Powder SPF 45
This stuff is a summer staple! I keep it on my at all times and need a few extra to stash in my stroller, purse, car, etc. I put face SPF on every morning, but this is a great way to reapply in the middle of the day. I will also dust it over my chest and shoulders when I’m in a pinch. The absolute best thing every about this powder is how easily I can apply SPF to Quinn’s face and hair part and she doesn’t freak out! I don’t use this in place of sunscreen, but as a convenient way to reapply.

For the entire month of May, I was experiencing some serious hormonal acne unlike I’ve ever known before and I chalk this up to the fact that my hormones have finally regulated after pregnancy. Adult acne is SO frustrating and when I posted about it on IG stories, my aesthetic nurse reached out and told me to try Jan Marini’s line as this is what she prescribes her patients when they experience acne. I initially used it as a spot treatment and noticed an immediate change overnight. I now use it as a preventive measure in my skincare routine and while I am still experiencing hormonal acne around my period cycle, the severity has SERIOUSLY decreased. I apply after cleansing at night and let it sink in before applying additional serums, lotions, and oils.
A couple of weeks ago, I attended a virtual Happy Hour with my girlfriends and one of them has started selling Beautycounter. Before you roll your eyes about another pyramid scheme, just know that I have used their sunscreen for years and I always come back to it. It’s CLEAN, I can use it on my kids without worry, and it has the perfect lightweight texture. Whenever I am back in Wisconsin, I rebuy it because the local coffee shop sells it and I can get it on my kids without them kicking and screaming.
Temps are warming up and after my zoom call with my girlfriends and talking all things skincare, I was reminded that I need to move my serums and lotions to a skin fridge to ensure maximum potency. Did you know that your vitamin C serum will be less effective if left in a warm bathroom? No bueno. This fridge is the perfect size to hold your ice roller, jade roller, serums, lotions and potions.
I plan to do a whole post on my favorite swimsuits under $50 but for now, I want to share my favorite line right now: AERIE. Maybe it comes with age but bathing suits have become increasingly more uncomfortable and being back in Wisconsin has proven this point! I literally HATE every expensive suit I have and come back to my comfy Aerie ones time and time again. You really can’t go wrong with any of their swimsuits but I love the bandeau, v scoop, and wide strap scoop (and longline option is amaze).
