If you’re anything like me, it doesn’t take much to make me happy on Mother’s Day. Over the years, my wants and needs have changed for this day and now, I love nothing more than getting homemade gifts from my kids, spending Mother’s Day Tea with them at school and enjoying brunch on the weekend with a mimosa or two. I don’t want or need elaborate gifts; in fact, I just want quality time with my kids and perhaps a facial or massage during the week when they’re at school to celebrate all the invisible work we do as moms. When my kids were younger, I yearned for some alone time on Mother’s Day without anyone asking me to do something for them but now I get that alone time when they’re at school and fill my cup as necessary. I don’t ask for gifts (and tend to buy myself what I want, when I want thank you very much) but I wanted to put together a guide of gifts that have some meaning or purpose at this stage of mom life. These gifts could also be “push presents” or a birthday gift but since Mother’s Day is right around the corner, it felt appropriate to name it such.
Take the Naghedi bag for instance. We both have this bag and it has been a staple throughout our motherhood journey. It’s the perfect material and size for carting around everything you need. I even took it to Hawaii as my travel AND beach bag. It’s that versatile and I can’t recommend it enough.
I also live in my Barefoot robe. I have so many other robes (and love, too) but nothing truly compares to Barefoot. It’s my robe, comfort blanket, and travel companion all around the house.
Personalized jewelry is always a hit so something from Maya Brenner or Tiny Tags would be so special.
